Do you think it is a good idea if myLot provided us with a spell-check tool (similar 2 that in microsoft word) so before releasing or let me say posting any discussion, it highlights the words with errors ??
I have released a discussion on stereotyping and i did not notice that this word was repeated maybe three times in my text with a typo I just forgot the E letter, I could not believe I made it three times and didn't notice it.
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1212890.aspx
So often After im done with a new discussion, i read the text carefully but despite that, I miss errors and typos sometimes until I post it. That makes me as they say Grrrr so what do you think guys ??????

would be a good idea for me as my fingers go faster than my brain and when i hit summit I see several words I have letters in that dont belong and I cant call it back.
BUt there are so many people o nhere that hasnt got a real good concept of the english language that it might hurt and frustrate them. and I know they work hard at getting their point across So I think that wont be put in for tools for our use. Sorry for me and you. But good for the whole of the community

Hello deadraven999,
It is a good idea to have spell check tool especially for people like me. English is not my first language *smile* I know I made a lot of mistakes here as sometimes I am really in a hurry. Another thing is that, I seldom check what I typed and after posting the response/discussion only I realized my mistakes. It helps too that I am using Mozilla Firefox browser where the spelling errors will be underlined with red dotted lines.

Although I think your suggestion has validity, in practice I feel that it would not be used by the vast majority. There are many on here for whom English is not their first language and so to put something together that is half understandable can sometimes be a challenge. There are also many on here who are only 'in it for the money' and wouldn't care if their spelling or grammar is incorrect.
It is very easy to make spelling mistakes, I don't get on here as often as I used to, and usually am in a bit of a rush so don't always go back and read what I am posting, but I do know that it says what I mean, with or without spelling errors.
One final point is that I speak 'English' English while a lot of contributors will speak 'American' English, there is an issue immediately.
By the way, I've just noticed, and gone back to correct, a spelling error that was highlighted as you suggest. I must have something set up on my browser to check for errors (I'm using Firefox, just checked and yes it's already set for spelling.).

Well, it's difficult to be perfect, if you make a mistake like that 3 times (and by your post you don't strike me as somebody who makes those mistakes easily), the same thing could happen to you with a spell checker. You might just forget it, be color-blind that day, don't feel like it, who knows. What I'm getting at is that there will always be mistakes. I for one accept them and just try to limit them as much as I can.

Well the spell-checker would at least highlight or underline the words with errors.
Thanx4 ur response

Agree..
Really, I have lots of discussions and responses with missing letters and repeated words...
I wish mylot could provide us with a spell-check tool or at least allows us to copy and paste from MS word without having to have the 500 score :p

Yeah, I know what you mean. After you've pressed the "post response" button and you realized you made a typo, you can feel pretty stupid after that. I would suggest you use Firefox instead of internet explorer, it has a built in spell check, so no hassles there. I haven't made a typo in a long time now, because of it.
I guess what we need more than that in my lot is an "edit" button, at least for the first original post, in the discussions we start. That would be good.

I would really appreciate an editor provided to us by mylot- I am a horrible speller on my own- and live off my Word editor- and also have noticed simple mistakes I have made after my post had been submitted- so if we had to vote on this- YOU GOT MY VOTE!!!
