What Are Your Best Childhood Memories?

I've been thinking back to my childhood lately... and I'm very happy with the way my parent's raised my sisters and I. They always took the time to make family events a priority. We grew up middle income in Brooklyn, NY. My parents always loaded us up with our giant cooler and our wood panaled Ford station wagon and off we went. It seems they would just look at maps and decide from there where to go. Not like today where we research the begeezus out of everything. They would just pick and that's where we went. Most of the time it was to various lakes or outdoor parks all along the Northeast. We did go to Canada as well and I remember seeing my first rainbow. Too bad about the cost of gasoline lately, otherwise, I'ld pack up the cooler, load up the kids, add a few DVDs (no reason we can't improve on the past! LOL), and pick up a map (they still print them right???). So, what's your favorite childhood memories? Do you still do them with your kids, or will you?

When I was a little girl,my home was near a village.I can still remember that in summer,I went to play in the village with my friends after school. We cought butterflies and other insects no matter we knew their names or not.We washed our hands and feet in a small stream. We knit flower crowns, and so on.I cherish this memory very much.

My best childhood memories were with my bestfriend and neighbor. We did everything together like riding bikes, doing puzzles, going to school together and doing all the fun things that kids get to do. We often fought over ridiculous things, but I think that was because she was like my sister. I knew her since I was born. I moved to another city when I was 10 years old and I was absolutely devastated. Now over 10 years later, we still keep in touch.

Hmmm.....we spent our summers at home. There were 4 of us kids. We spent ALOT of time playing outdoors together. We would run around barefoot. Roll down the hills, ride our big wheel bikes down the LOOOONNNNGGGGG Driveway, go exploring ect. We did everything together!!!! We had sooo much fun! With my kids....they are only toddlers....We are trying very hard to do fun things with them. We take them camping at the fingerlakes every year, and my MIL takes them with her for a week to a camp area. We were going to try and take them to different campsites around us but it is just too darn expensive anymore. Most places want close to $30 a night and thats just with a tent. Maby next yr. Its hard for us to do just anything. We both work overnights and our schedules...SUCK!!!!
