OK...So my finace was writing the checks every week to pay the bills, he took care of what would be paid when. A few months ago, I saw that he was getting a little stressed wioth it and I suggested that I take over the responsibility to help him out. He thougth that was the worst idea ever! So...for the next couple of months after that, I just watched him get frustrated about doing it when he got home from work, or fighting with the people on the telephone telling them that their online payment programs were at fault when in fact he would forget his passwords every month...lol. I kept it to myself, but I thought it was funny. I think he just wanted so bad to be right,a nd let me know that he could handle it.
He finally approached me a month ago, saying that he thinks it would be a good idea if I tried to do the bills so I could get a better understanding of how much moneyu we had.
I couldn't beleive he turned it around on me like that...I think he was just trying to justify his decision...I again kept my amusement to myself.
I have been keeping track of the finances,a nd have had no problems with it..we have even been having more money left over...hmmmm...lol.
Sorry for the long story..I just wanted you to also give me your input on if it's a guy thing or if he just wanted to be right.

I've always been the one in charge of the bills and the budget in my current relationship, and in some of my past relationships as well. It probably helps that I'm usually the organized one. :)
I definitely let my fiance know how things are going on the finances, which helps me not be as stressed about it, and also lets him know whether we have extra money to spend or not.

I think it definitely helps to be organized. That would be me in our relationship..lol. Yeah..I keep him informed if he asks. I make sure to let him know our balance frequently to give him an idea of what he can spend on lunch, gas, and extras throughout the week too. Thanks for responding:)

That is funny. Good thing that he broke down and let you take over the finances. I take care of the bills in our house. We have a very tight budget. My husbands pay gets put directly into our checking account and I give him his allowance for the week. All of my money goes into the account also. It is stressful for me at times too, but I like knowing that everything is paid for on time.

We are on a tight budget as well. All of the credit card debt,a nd hospital bills..UGH! I think that when I would tell him we needed things for the house, he thought I was spending too much. I like it mush better this way because I make sure the bills are paid on time, and I can also get the things we need,a nd weed out the things we can go without. That way...he doesn't feel like I'm always asking for money. All of our money goes into one account as well. Thanks for responding:)
