I was just wondering if other people have special places that they love to go and just shut out the world.
I have a few. For me I like to sit on my dressing table with the lights off and rest my elbows on my window sill. This is best when it is dark and raining. I like to sit there and write in my diary, just listening to the rain hammering on the window.
I also have a tree in a field near my house which is amazing to sit under and read a book in the sunshine.
I also love sitting on the seventh step of the staircase when the house is empty and it is dark. Just sitting there thinking. I think it is because I once read that the seventh step is where the angels wait, or something similar.
Was just wondering if you guys had similar places.

I love singing while taking shower bath in my bathroom. I could sing whatever songs and with whatever tones I wish with the showering onto my body. Woo...This really makes me comfy and relaxed.
Occasionally I do take a 15 minutes drive to a nearby foot hill. Then I set off on foot to my favorite spot, yeah, the lovely stream in the photo that attached here. I love and enjoy sitting on the top of the rock and shaking my feet in the cool flowing stream water. I can see fish swimming freely beneath the crystal clear water and listening to the lovely and pleasant chirping of birds and insects around. The gentle breeze......

Hey. Yes I have a special place that I like to go, and its 10 minutes drive from my house, and 45-60 minutes walking time... This place is on our land, up on the highest hill for around that area, over looking the ocean, the back drop is the beautiful thick green, untouched bush... I will drive my car right up there and sit up on that flats above and relax, staring at the ocean that looks never ending, thinking about alot of things, and listening to the native birds in our forest and all the awsome sounds they make... Its really neat to sit up there and watch the sun set, and the surf going off... We are lucky to have this beautiful haven...

My special place is anywhere without negative elements/people (ex.people who can't mind their own businesses)where you could be at peace.Baguio is a place I love to be in my country (Philippines)because of the cold climate and its romantic appeal. In school,I love to be in the botanical garden as it holds priceless memories for me and going to that place takes of f my worries. And lastly,I want to be where my one and only love is for every place he's in is heaven to me.

I like this kind of a post...thinking about how to respond...then coming back and reading how other Mylotters do things in their lives. Anyway as I read your special places I realized how many I actually have. In the summer I love to sit on our swing by a large water pond my hubby made in our back yard. Birds are drawn to the sound of the water bubbling up from the pump. They bathe and drink and then eat some berries behind the swing and I can watch them in a very up close and personal way. Afterwards I go and lie in the hammock, read a book or journal my thoughts.
Another favorite place is in what I call my 'sanctuary' in the attic. Hubby created a cozy place up there and the kid in me loves it. It feels like an indoor tree house with the peaked roof in a small, but comfortable space. All my special objects are there and remind me of my spiritual path and the many things I have collected to remind me of my growth. I and light some candles and inscence, lie down, put on the headphones and drift deeply into a quiet inner place where the still small Voice can be heard...it truly is my Sacred Space.
Afterwards I climb down the stairs and go into my office. It is also filled with special momentos and collectibles that remind me of my Mom. She passed away 2 years ago and I love to have her things around me as I work. The window beside my desk overlooks the garden, with the window open I see and hear the birds...and it allows me to take a Nature break anytime throughout the day. With Celtic Music playing the background I realize my office is also one of my very special places.
Thank you mischief88 for posting this discussion...it is nice to be reminded of those places that make life sweet and enjoyable. You sound like you have a lot of your own...fun, satisfying topic.
