Frustrated about responses!!

When I start a discussion, and I get a response that is wonderful. The problem is when I go to answer that response I can't see what the person just wrote, and can't remember it all sometimes so my response isn't all I want it to be. Some are short and I can remember them. I just wish I could see all of what the person wrote so I could give a better response..Do you know what I mean? Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, i have the exact same problem and its frustrating. I think this should be something that Mylot looks at and maybe fixes so that when you want to comment on a response it shows you the comment that you are responding on instead of something else.

I know sometimes someone may only respond once, but I like to acknowledge everyone that responds to my message, because I appreciate them taking the time to respond. It would be nice if Mylot would look into this. thank you.

I know what you mean Feona. That's why I find it easier responding via email notification because it opens up another window for you to respond, and then in the background i still have the original response/message/discussion they made so I can refer to that when I need to. It it annoying when you can't see the original response first off and that could be another feature mylot should add to improve this site.

Now this response I can see, but if you leave me another, I won't be able to see it and it drives me batty. I want to give the best response that I can and it would help if I could see what I am responding to. That is a great idea about the e-mail part but we shouldn't have to go to all that just to respond. thank you.

LOL....I know exactly what you mean...The responses should be able to be seen whilst you are answering back to them, it does get frustrating sometimes..

Yes, that would be the way to go. Hopefully they will fix it for us. Until then we must go it alone. thank you.

I have that problem sometimes too. But since I started using a different browser where I can open up tabs and have the site open in both of them, it makes it a lot easier. I just have the one tab that shows where I am responding, and in the other I have it where the actual response is showing so that I don't forget what was said.

If there is a will, there is a way, and it looks like we have all found a way to overcome this. LOL If we all were giving a yes or no answer then it wouldn't be a problem, but this is a discussion and we need to write back and forth to each other. thank you.

yes we also face the same problem i think mylot should make some changes here so that we can see what the responder has responded and accordingly we can reply to all the points thoroyghly. There are some cases where some of them have responded very nicely but the moment we press the reply button we forget some important points anyway some has got very good memory here so there is an advantage for them.

I know. Last night I was responding and I had to apologize to the person because I couldn't remember everything about the response. I felt really bad about it. If we were to answer yes or no then it wouldn't be a problem, but with discussions sometimes you can get several from the same person or from others that have responded to your response and so on. thank you.

That is what I am going to have to do. It would be easier than trying to remember and then not giving a good response because I forgot half of the post. thank you.

As maddy said open another window will help but I also copy and paste the response to Microsoft word then I can just scroll up and down with the response right in front of me. then when I get my comment finished I copy and paste it back here in myLot. I also like to use copy and paste if I'm going to have a rather long comment or response and I don't want to lose it. I also can check for spelling.

Ya, at times I have the same issue. When I need to refer back to the response, I simply open my mail in another window and mylot in another. In this case, I alternate the windows. Works rather well for me. Try it.

It is frustrating not to be able to see the nice response someone gave. Opening another window is a good idea and I will have to do this until they can fix it. thank you.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean...especially if the responses are longer with a number of valid points I want to comment on. With those ones I've made a point of jotting down a few things down with pen and paper. The quick notes job my memory and remind me of what I want to say in a reply post. It isn't a great solution and can slow things down a little, but it sounds like you feel as I do...that I appreciate people stopping by and want let respondents know it. So as I say not a great solution...but it works for me. Good luck with it!

This is exactly how I feel. Some responses are longer and I want to make sure that I answer the best I can, because others have taken the time to write a lengthy response, which is great. Taking notes is a great idea. thank you.

Yeah, I got that problems to so often. Sometimes it really do slow me down. I have a bad connection that has slow me down. If I replied one's response and forgot about the content I had to go back to it again and really it made me more slowing down. Sometimes it really big problems to me too.

So perhaps for the meantime, before you hit the reply link, select the response altogether and paste them in a notepad, so that you can take a look at them from time to time while you are writing your reply. i hope i understood what you mean and my suggestion is fitted :)

It has happened to me a couple of times. I find that when I restart my computer it helps. Sometimes the glitch goes away and sometimes not.

yeah.. I always found that trouble so I can't give my response to them. perhaps users can make their question simple and take it short
