Another food recall and again from a plant in Georgia.
WASHINGTON - The government warned consumers and retailers Monday to take urgent action to rid their shelves of more than 90 different products, from chili sauce to corned beef hash to dog food, produced at a plant linked to a botulism outbreak.
Castleberry's Food Company closed the suspect plant.
"You're talking tens of millions of cans that may have been involved," said Robert Brackett, director of the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
The company has hired an outside firm to visit more than 8,500 retailers around the country in an effort to quickly get recalled products off store shelves.

Yes I read this late last night and it makes ya wonder if there isnt some kinds of sabatoge going on.
I f I recall the story right this was some kind of machanical thing they think something got in to a bunch of fod they can. WHat I want to know is when all this food contamination is going to stop where are the health inspectors in these places and I know they are there. For I have worked in some. This kind of thing should be found and stopped before shipping they just arent doing their job right

That is a scary thought but I have wondered all along if it could be intentional.

Over the years I've bought Castleberry's products. I sure hope they get off the shelves and no one is injured. I checked my pantry to make sure we didn't have any of their products in the house. It's getting so you're almost afraid to buy anything any more. And it's really scary since they make products under other names also. I sure hope all are being removed.

I am thankful that I do not have anything labeled Castleberry, although I have bought that brand in the past. I regret that the article does not list the other brands and products other than chili sauce. Is there a place that lists more information?

Now this is getting scary- they don't even mention what dog food it is- sometimes I think I might have to start making my own dog food just to be safe- but I'm not sure I can afford that- I just bought dog food too- now I'm gonna be a nervous wreck till i find out what kind of food it is....thanks for posting this.

This is really starting to look bad, conspiracy type bad. I just don't see how this can happen and get by everyone to the point it is on store shelves.

Wow! That is a lot of products. Occassionally we have a product recalled, but it is only ever one at a time, not 90 different products.
I guess the customers are going to claiom their money back.
I am very surprised that there is a botulism outbrak in the US in this day & age.
Someone, or the company, has not been following proper procedures.
Hope the poor people with botulism recover.

The number of food recalls of late is very frightning. I am ready to begin eating only things that I grow! Surely I'd lose weight that way, as I can't grow a donut! Ha! Think of people who don't watch the news or read newspapers. Many in my area (poor appalachian area) do not read papers or watch television. I tell all that I see and have contact with, but that is only a handful. Many in the remote areas I have no contact with. Are the standards not being upheld at the manufacturers anymore? What is up?!
