On our local ABC news channel at noon today, they gave us information about "professional home staging". I'd never heard of this until today, but it's been on 20/20, The Today Show and CBS News also. If you want to sell your home quickly and live in an area where real estate is NOT moving (like we do), they suggest you contact a professional home stager through Staged Homes.com. They will show you how to make your home much more attractive to a buyer. Check out their site and tell me what you think. I love the idea and plan to use one from our area of Florida. This could be a help in the market when things don't seem to be selling. I am not sure I would spend the money. I would not mind becoming a stage but cannot afford their course. They should know all the things that statistically people are triggered on. It might give you an advantage. I wish you luck. Where might you being moving to?

I can understand not being able to afford it, believe me. The only way we can afford it is the fact that we have a lot of equity in our home. It was built in 1990 and has tripled in value. We have 3 other houses on our block for sale, and they have had so little activity that we need to do something to make ours more attractive. Also, we can afford to come down on our price, unlike some others who bought their homes in the past few years and paid so much more than what we did in 1990. We plan to move further north in FL, up around the Ocala area. We just want to get out of South FL.

So good that you have improved so. Just found out my property is worth 130K. Was hoping for more since we are restarting our lives. Anyway, I hope you find a nice spot in northern Florida. Ocala, I am not real familiar with. I was over near Cape Canaveral when I was down there. Good luck with the selling and moving.

My husband has a sister in Cocoa and I have one in Melbourne, so I'm really familiar with that area also. We prefer to be further north in FL, but really haven't decided exactly where yet. If they don't do something about the soaring property taxes and homeowner's insurance rates, we may even end up moving out of state...and I was born here and have lived in FL all my life.

Marie, I'd just like to make it look more attractive than the other homes for sale in our neighborhood, and I would hope they could give me some great ideas.
