I need to buy a digital camera in the future to make it possible to take professional photos. There must be many of you who know a lot about cameras and photo, so I would be grateful for some advice. What sort of camera would be best??

hi , for the camera , i think first ,you have to look what you want to do with it? what is professional to you? because , the first choise you have to make is if you buy a point and shoot , or a dslr . the point and shoot have the plus you can operate them very easely , not having to worry about the preferences , as well as they have a stance for manually setting aperture , whiteball , shutterspeed , ...(like me , i have a sony dsc-h1 , and im very pleased to work with it) dslr have the plus they give even more quality , and are better , but you really need some knowledge about photography to handle them. second point is , the lenses you have to take along. so , conlcusion , if you know what photography is , you know about lightning aperture , diafragma , ... buy a dslr , a canon 400 D for example , but if you just want nice pics with a payeble camera , use a point and shoot:) any questions , ask:) greetings

Thanks for the information. I am not so good at photo, so I have to keep to point and shoot kind of things here... When I have earned enough from my business, I want to buy a good camera, I had a Sony pocket camera once and it worked very well, I still have it somewhere...

Canon or Nikon. A lot depends on a good camera body and features but majority of quality is in the lenses. Good quality lens goes a long way. Invest more in lens then the camera body. Ash

Canon Rebel Xt - This is my basic starter setup. I received an 18-55 kit lens and Purchased the Tameron 28-200 zoom lensand a fixed f1.8 50mm lens. I am working toward a fast telephoto lens.
If you are going to do professional work you need to have a good camera and good glass. Mychoice would be a Canon or Nikon Digital SLR. I would buy an entry level camera like a Canon Rebel and take the extra money an buy some good lens. Decide on a camera system and you can buy the lens and when you move up to a bigger and better camera the lens will work. I choose the Canon Rebel to start with because the sensor and the processor are the same as the ones in their bigger cameras.

Thanks, you are right, Canon seems to have great products, I bought one of their cameras some ten years ago and it still works well but it is not digital of course. I often get the pictures on cd so I can use them in my computer. It is rather expensive though.

i have 2 Kodak easy share,s one is a 6.1mp the other is 10mp. both are super cmeras, the 6.1 is super easy touse,i dont care to much forthe dial. to turn it on yo have ot push in this little button under your thumb whie turning this dial with the same thumb. the button onn mine is starting to stick. it also has internal memory as well as a slot for addiional memory card. as well as a german made lens it takes really good pictures. my 10 mp is really great! i like the quaity of the pictures,i can take some great night shots, especially full moon pictures. it has alot of dif settings such as for documents, low light, museum, candle light,ect... the other has he too,but not the one for taking pictures in candle light. the only thing i dont like is that it doesnt automatically hange form memory card to internal. now my uncle has a CAnon rebel. it takes some really awsome pictures! he has a telephoto lens and gets some truely awsome close ups of hummingbirds and flowers!

Thanks a lot for the info. I love to take night pictures and low light pictures, I guess these cameras are rather expensive..could pay for themselves though, if I can sell some photos.
