Okay all you gather experts, I need some help and any advice at all is greatly appreciated. I have been a member for awhile but just recently wrote my very first article. I decided to add some images. All my images are too big. How the heck do I make them smaller? I looked everywhere for the answer but couldn't find it. Please help.

I think you can put it into paint file, reduce it and post it.

Thanks. I will try that. I was thinking that might work but I wasn't sure.

I open mine with the micorsoft picture manager. There i can make the picture smaller or bigger depending on the need and put it to my Gather site. I didn't know you were on Gather. Can I have your link so I can go read! Is that the site you were busy on. I saw you mentioned that on another discussion. I thought maybe it was Moratraffic because it is so easy to make money there.

I'd rather not put any links up but if you are on gather you should be able to find me. I think its something like brendalee.gather.com. That would be my profile page. I have never heard of moratraffic. Can you tell me more.

You need some kind of photo editing program to make your images smaller. There are plenty of programs out there that you can do this with. My scanner/copier/printer came with software where I can edit the size and quality of my pictures so I can upload them. Your computer may have a program already that can help you with this.

I too need some help, the bytes may be less than other pictures I see there but they sure do not like mine. I will resize them and see what happens. I appreciate you sharing your difficulty here and I hope to be connected to you at Gather also. Good luck to you.

I might or might not be able to help. Did you write your article in MS Word? And did you add the images using "copy and paste"? If so, then that's your problem. Word adds lots of coding which makes the finished file huge. If you delete those images and using the "Insert ... Image from file" option instead, there will be no increase in size and your total file size will be manageable. However, if your images are too big *to begin with* are too big, then you will need to use a photo editing program to decrease the resolution. Hope that helps :-)

Its the pictures themselves that are too big. It says no bigger than 1.5mb and most of mine are over 2.

I have to do that myself sometimes since I'm over at gather as well....I have Photoshop Elements 4.0--the uh, cheaper version of regular photoshop--there you can resize either by pixels or inches...I have a mac computer so don't have mircosoft office--by if you have that usually part of microsoft office is some kind of picture editor as well...you can resize that way as well
