Letting go... of something? someone maybe?

Letting go - letting go means allowing things to exist as if they were in the palm of your hands.

What do those 2 words mean to you? Letting Go. For me there are really 2 questions that spring to my mind here. What are the kinds of things we want to let go of? And why should I do these? i.e. What is the benefit for me?Letting go is simply making a decision. No longer allow something from the past to influence your life now or to reduce your inner sense of peace and well-being. So all we need to do is to let go of the beliefs and attitudes that prevents us from experiencing the joy of the moment. The problem comes in identifying exactly what that means; we have so many beliefs that prevents us from being here and now, from being content and peaceful within. I'm sure all of you had experienced letting go... have you ever thought how and what you've been after doing that? What are the changes?

Hi kcrysea! :) LETTING GO may be about something you have for years now that left you with no choice but to let go, or a certain experience that is of value to you but you need to learn to accept that it is just now a PLAIN experience and you can no longer move time and go back to it, or it may be about a PERSON who has become a great part of you whom you need to get over with. Those are not easy to deal with, right? As everybody says, changes are the only constant things in this world and dealing with them always gives us a difficult start. We are not in control when they arrive. We are even unaware that these sudden changes will come. For me, "LETTING GO" is not the right words to say: ACCEPTANCE is a more appropriate term. No matter how much you say that you're fine or convince yourself that you will be ok, you are not. Think about this: How can you let go of somebody that has been of great essence to you? How will you just let go and forget about a person who has been one of the reasons why you are the person that you are right now? Or how will you be able to let go of that certain something that at one point, was what you wanted for your life? It's just hard, isn't it? It's because... it should HAVE BEEN more of ACCEPTING those inevitable changes - of realizing that there are reasons why certain things have to happen. It's a matter of perspective, kcrysea. The choice is in YOU whether you continue dwelling on things you can no longer change or take a sip of this simple realization and move on. Once you do this, always remember to be THANKFUL that for once in your life, you were blessed for having such thing, going through with that experience, and being with that person. :) I wish you well and the best! Take care always and God bless! \(",)_

To my understanding, it means that there is no need to care so much about something or someone that makes you unhappy. Or something that is not worth your attention. Or something that you are holding over firmly.

Letting go means moving on from someone or something that you spend your life with. It's accepting that the one that you love is no longer yours and you have to let go and move on with your life. I guess everyone experience the pain of letting go... that is something that we cannot prevent, its part of life and there is nothing you can do. Life change after letting go of course... how can your life be still the same if you loose someone who is already been a part of you.

For me letting go means to set my issues aside and move foward, I don't believe that anyone can let go to the point of forgeting because the truth is with every step that we move foward is the experience that we had in the past. In letting go, I am accepting what I have denied all along and no longer allowing it to play a role in my life. Nonetheless, it will always linger in my heart and mind.

for me, letting go means "to release". it means allowing something or someone to leave you. it means abandoning the fear that makes you stay rather than move. it means saying the words you've always wanted to say but couldn't. it means forgetting the old emnities which stopped you from going forward. it means giving freedom, having freedom, letting freedom have you.
