Our daughter doesnt like to go to bed at night in her bed and would rather sleep elsewhere and in the summer, thats ok, but come september, she will need a good nights sleep - she is 10.
she also seems to have bad dreams thru the night and ends up in our bed almost every night. has anyone gone through this and how did you fix this?

Sounds like maybe its time to put your foot down. Since your letting her do it in the summer time she thinks its okay to do it anytime. You need to just tell her the new rule and reinforce that. Make the consequences known. Be truthful and tell her that you were wrong to let her sleep wherever she wanted and now she needs to start sleeping in her own bed.
If she is falling asleep in the living room with the tv on then she could be getting nightmares from what is infiltrating her little sponge of a mind. Also, take the tv out of her bedroom, they don't need one in there. If she comes to your bed after a nightmare then consul her and tuck her back in her bed. But the more you allow her to keep sleeping wherever she wants the more she will run the show, in that sense.
