Your FH might have a mouth injury or infected by Saprolegnia sp. or parasites living on the surface of the fish body. Cure your FH with antibiotics & adding "Methylene Blue" (2 mg/L)or "Malachite Green" (0.1 ~ 0.2 mg/L) or Zinc-free oxalate into the water for 3 ~ 5 days may help.
Goodluck!

It would help to know how large the cichlid is and how large that tank is. Also tell us what your pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings are. How often do you do water changes and how much each time.? What kind(s) of food are you feeding it? Cichlids in general are hardy fish that do not get sick easily. I would make sure to do a partial water change of about 25% with dechlorinated water and abut 1/2 teaspoon of salt per gallon of water. If you are already adding salt then just make sure that the amount of salt that you put in is for the amount of water that you are putting in the tank. Remember that salt does not evaporate like water so if you add water to the tank to top of what evaporates do not add any salt. By a partial water change I mean that you will take out water and replace it with new water that has been dechlorinated. Another ting to remember is that Flower horn cichlids can get very large depending on which types of cichlid parents are used. And as such they should be put in very large tanks, nothing smaller than a 50 gallon tank for one of these animals.
