Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -Which did you prefer

The original was way better than the johnny depp version. He wanted to revise it, but they wouldn't let him. He seemed kinda like a weird, freak, pedofile type. It was creepy. I hated it.

I like the newer version. Johny depp did great. The effects were stunning also unlike in the old version. I really like that movie. Tim Burton was good.

The remake was "different" and I liked it for Johnny Depp, but I have to stay true to the original, Gene Wilder is the best....

I liked both of them for different reasons. I, of course, am a huge Johnny Depp fan, so I liked the second one for that reason plus I liked the new one because it explained why Willy Wonka was so miserable. The original was good too just because it was the original. I didn't like the Oompa Loompas in either one just because they are creepy.

so far, i only like the willie wonka and the chocolate factory because i've never seen the charlie and the chocolate factory, "yet." though it does come to my attention to watch it. i wonder when i will.

I will actually only watch the original. It is ne of my favorite movies. My middle daughter likes the new one. I have seen bits & pieces of it. It creepas me out for some reason.

I prefer the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I thought Johnny Depp was good in the new version, but I did not really care for the loud music or the grandparent in it. I also did not like the new umpa lumpas or the darkness of the movie, even though I expected it to be dark because most all of Tim Burton's movies are.

I liked the older one better. But it was kinda nice to have a part showing why Willie Wonka got into making chocolates.

I absolutely enjoyed the remake wth Johhny Depp. The kids love and they always sing along with th oompa loompas and dance around it is adorable!!!

both. though d one wid johnny depp was a bit better cuz its more detailed and more realistic(based on d graphic and such) of course its explainable cuz d 1st onewas like 40+ years ago... but both r good.

I like the beginning of the new one, but once they get into the chocolate factory I like the old one better.

I enjoyed the original more than the new one. I feel that Gene Wilder is a great actor. But I do like how Johnny Depp did the character justice and gave it more of a rounded appeal.

I think I liked the original better. I think that's just how I am. I like the Classics. But, I did like the new one too. It had some intersting twists to it. My daughter loves the new oompa loompas. I hated them! lol She thought they were (he was) hysterical.

i prefer the remake is better,,,actually i just watch the trailer of the original,,,but i think the newer version is better,,,especially for freddie highmore,,,he is really good in this movie,,,

I liked the original version better. Johnny Depp was weird and weird looking in the newer one. Gene Wilder is a nut and he's funny. The older versions bratty kids were better I think.

I think the newer one was the best.. I love Johnny Depp so that made a big impact.. The older version was kinda creepy.. well but the new one had a little bit of creeynest to it.. but i love it.. So worth watching.

This is a hard question for me,I loved the first one,everything about it..but i also loved the new one with Johnny..i loved the effects,and beautiful coloring,,but he was soo creepy,and there was way too much story line,in the beginnign and end..actually I hated the end,.yet i loved the new oompa loompas and there song lol..but if i really truely had to choose id say the first one.its too bad they couldnt mix up what i loved in the new one in the old lol..

I much prefer the old version. The newer version is much too scary and evil. Willy is supposed to be a poor misunderstood man. Gene Wilder's version is sad and sweet. Johnny Depp's version seems like a pedophile.

I seen the original but can't hardly remember it..been too long. I saw the new one with Johnny Depp and boy! he was good. I think I like the newer one better.

the two movies are both great however there is also the question of can the old and new be compared as they were from different times also ofcourse the old ones set was built with quality and was simply amazing but i think they are both good :)
