i've heard stories about it..
i'm a sophomore in college. since last april, a high school dude was courting me. he says he's in love with me because i'm really blah and blah and so on. he says a lot of mushy things that are really nice to hear... ok, so i'm starting to like him because he's really adorable and sweet. 'm thinking of giving him a chance, but then.. i'm afraid of the consequences.. my friends urge me to stop seeing him because high school boys usually come on to college girls to make them their trophies and wave them to their friends... of course, i don't want to be used! what do you think about my situation here?

Are there no other boys more mature that is courting you right now?
This is only my opinion. High school boys when it comes to relationship are not yet emotionally mature. This is a time when gooffing around and experimenting is the norm.
If you do decide to say yes to this guy be prepared to be the mature one in the relationship. Because most of the time he would be probably clueless to your need or is always trying to get into your pants. Its the hormone thing.

i guess i shouldn't pursue a relationship with him then.. be practical, right? sigh..

wow.. i really don't know. haha.. well.. he loves to cook and bake (haha..) he's a basketball athlete.. kind of the homeboy type who loves to read and watch television.. he's basagolero.. but he respects women.. he's kind of ma-angas type din. that's all i know about him. i never really had the chance to bond with him in person. but i like him a lot.
once, he visited the house because my brother (ka kabarkada niya) invited him. he's not the shy type, he easily gets comfortable in places which isn't his territory.. hahaha.. i find that admirable. wow i'm really sharing this huh? silly me.. anyway, i really like him a lot. and i don't think he's the type who brags. he pretty much keep things to himself.. my mom even likes him.."adorable boy"
but my friends say this and that about high school guys.. i don't know.. but i really like him.

Boys normally at his age are still immature. You said this HS guy intrigues you, in what way?
Does he possess the qualities you are looking for in a bf? List it down and see if he has those qualities.
Do you share same interest? Is he a good conversationalist? Does he make sense when he open his mouth? (Or puro bola lang ang alam). Try engaging him in an intellectual conversation and see if he is the responsible type. (Again baka puro bola lang yun)
Remember in a date your are probably the one to pick up the tab. Unless he is a rich HS guy.

Before liking him you should know his background details. That will be better if you find the information about that person.

I guess so. But I really like him - I'm just afraid that he'll use me. But I can't see why he needs to. After all, he's popular in high school.. I'm the one who'll be tempted to use him as my trophy! Haha.. Just kidding.

yeah, i've heard about it too. and it hurts that ther are cases that these high school boys really look to college girls as trophies. take your time to think about it. don't rush yourself by committing yourself to him if you're not yet sure of his motives. wait a few more months, and if he hasn't stopped courting you, then that means that he's really into you.

we really don't know if he is serious to you, but as what may people would say yea high school boys court college girls to use as trophies. Showing to friends how macho or cool they are having a girlfriend older than them. Some use girls for allowance since they have more money hehehe.
