The only numbers i tend to remeber off by heart are the family ones...and thats just close family...the others are all written in a little book...the crunch came one day..when i was satying at my mothers to look after her...and i lost the book!!!
It was really difficult without it!!!..i had to phone different relatives to ask for the numbers...but the book turned up again many months later!!
If you use directory enquiries its very expensive...so i try not to use them unless its essential

Very few!
It is very unfortunate really.
I rely too much on the phonebook in my mobile phone for the numbers.

I find it hard to memorize numbers. By now, I can only memorize 3 phone numbers, mine, my partner's and our office's. Those numbers are the most important I believe. Whenever emergency cases come, I can immediately call the numbers and seek help, and aid.

I think i hardly remember any phone numbers except my husbands. I would need to check if i truly remember even my home number. Actually once feeded in the memory of the mobile one never needs to have second view of it. I am always searching the name and dialing that's all so it' s not possible to keep track of numbers.

Before i had a mobile i remembered a lot of numbers normally of all my near and dear ones but now with my moble i dont need to do this job. My mobile does this as all are stored there and one dosent need to remember these numbers at all. I surely keep in mind my husbands mobile number incase i am out without my mobile.

That is a wonderful elephant and looks just like me when I am trying to remember my phone number. That is right! I do not remember ANYBODY's number, not even my own. As Einstein is reported to have said when asked his social security number, I don't remember anything that I can easily look up.

Approximately, I remember around 50 phone numbers, I guess.
My case is a bit different, it is not because I'm dependent on the phone memory that I remember only as many as 50, but I have retained only very limited contacts.
There are only few that is in the phone memory which I do not remember.

When I was young and I didn't have a cell phone I knew at least 30 numbers and some of them I still remember. Now with cell phones and with people changing numbers very often I must admit that I have to think when someone asks me to tell him my number. My boyfriend gets mad sometimes because I don't know his number but I always call him from my cell phone and there I only see his name and even if I am calling him from a house phone that phone still has memory and I just look up for hs name and I don't have to dial the numbers. So with this system no wonder we don't know anyone's number any more because we don't dial them and the best way to learn somehing is to reapeat it many times.

i can remeber quite a large no. of phone no.....i remeber the numbers in a specific format..i group no. in groups of 2/3/4 nos. which makes it easy to remember...like say no is 9845671233..i will group them as 98 45 67 12 33 or 9845 671 233...this makes it easy to remember the no.
having said this i wud like to mention that many times i forget my own cell no, maybe that is bcoz i never really need to call my own no.

My memory of phone number's is pretty bad.If you ask me the numbers may be at the most 10, it will be my family and very close friend's.That's it.I am all the time looking into my phone book to get the numbers.

even if i already have my cellular phone, i always have a list of phone numbers in my address book coz we don't know what might happen, what if we lost our celphone or anything, and we don't have a hard copy of those important numbers we have, then everything was lost unless we all remember those numbers, but eventually, we all don't memorize every number saved in our mobile phone..... as for me, the only number that i really know is my number, the number of my aunt, my brother, and there are times that there are numbers i can't really remeber..

Before using mobile phones i used to keep many of my friends number and some telephone numbers which i dial for enquiry in my office.
Iam just thinking over now about my memory capacity ruined by my mobile.I remember the lan line of my residence , mobile numbers of my home people and 6 of my friends mobile number. Most times i check my mobiles contact folder to view a number.

That's what the mobile did to us.You either press the name or us the voice tag so that you do not have to see the number at all at times. So there is this danger of at total loss at emergencies.
