the smoking ban in pubs and nightclubs in singapore was recently enforced. are you whooping for joy, or loudly declaming another loss of basic human rights?
personally, I am super duper happy. first, my clothes won't smell smokey after having a beer, nor when i watch a soccer match. second, my lungs don't have to weep from getting all the second hand smoke. third, these enclosed spaces will smell much better, and not of stale overnight smoke, even if no one were smoking then.
however, the poor smokers now have to huddle in a glass fishbowl and puff away. away from what's hip and happening. and all inhaling each other's second hand smoke. although we could argue that no one, no state should be allowed to take away their right to slowly blacken their lungs, I dunno, I think this is one instance where the non-smoking majority (?) will be grateful for.
So whether you are singaporean or not, are you elated or dismayed with this new rule?

I use to be a smoker and probably would be upset by this ruling but now that I don't smoke, it doesn't bother me at all. I don't go out much to places which use to allow smoking so its all good. I do feel for my husband though, standing out in the freezing cold trying to take few quick puffs LOL
