Smiling. I am also near-sighted. My glasses are my necessity in my daily life, without which I feel like a blind man. I can see that. And I can also see that your diary is important to you like an old friend, whom you tell your secrets to. Thanks very much, mimpi1911.

Yes, I too have these fears. Every night when I go to sleep, I pray to God to show me and my family another sunshine next morining.
Believe me if I had to take just one thing and run for my life, I will just take my two children and my hubby too......lol and leave the rest behind. What will I do with all the money and life, if my dear ones are not there with me........so I pray to God just to protect my family for all such disasters........if we are together, we can fall and raise again and agian, but if you are left alone, then why to raise .......better fall asleep for ever and ever.

You understood and appreciated my feelings, this itself shows that you too are a wonderful caring person. We are all human beings and we all have a little soft heart which cries with pain for its dear ones. These sentimental attachements of heart are most valuable in this world. I know it and you know it and we all know it.........May God bless all of us.

I appreciate your response very much. It is very touching to me. You are so kind to your family and value every life in your family. I am so happy that the first thing you think about is your family without whom we would be deeply lost in the world. Only with them can we gain everything again after the earthquake. Life is priceless and valuable. Thank you very much. I think that I have learnt a lot from your response.

You are so considerate about the life of your family. Life is the most important. Without life there is no need for us to have anything, because things outside our life don't make any sense to us. Life is the most valued possession we can have from God. Thanks for your time, friend.

My preference is money. With money you can get something to eat somewhere. Next preference is medicines.

Hello dear friend. I have to say that you are right because money can help us with anything that is needed in our daily life so far as our material life is concerned and also medicine is needed to help keep us healthy from getting sick.

That would be my dog, no doubt. Fortunately we rarely have earthquakes in this part of the world. Tho i did experience a smaller one in England 4-5 years ago. It was in the very early morning hrs. I was on night shift in our local psyciatric unit, when just of a sudden the whole buildiy started shaking for almost a min. It was such as surreal wxperience and one i do not wish to have again.

It is so nice that you live in an area where no earthquakes would take place. Your country, Netherlands, is so beautiful with varieties of tulips giving off sweet smells to drive away earthquakes. You must be a very loving
person to think of taking your dog with you in this case. Thanks for your sharing, my kind-hearted friend.

I am so sorry to have made a mistake about these two countries. I thought this problem for many times and was confused until I thought carefully about the story you had mentioned here. Yes, I read the story from the Green Tales. The little mermaid comes from Denmark. It is such a beautiful statue facing the sea. I love the story ever since I was a kid. Thanks for your explanation, Kim.

Sorry Wil just a little eduction in geography, lol. No offence.
Netherland s & Denmark are 2 seperate independent country, tho we are both from the north western part of Europe. Loads of people mistake Dane's to come from Netherland but it is actually Dutch people from Holland. Dane's come from Denmark, you know the Vikings, lurpack butter, the little mermaid....etc. Hope this help you have a better picture.

Actually at the emergcy time, the choice we made may surprise ourselve at a latter time. Once upon a time a couple with thier kid met a flood, and the husband had to make a decide who he should save as he can only save one wife at that time. The decision he made was saving his wife. When he was asked why he saved his wife instead of his child, he said he has not time to think over who he should save, what he did is just to try to save them both and save the one near him first, but after he saved his wife the child was gone. At the emergcy, few person can make a decision that he think is absolutely righ when consider it latter.

Hello williamjisir, Thanks for the discussion.I hold exactly the same opinion with the chosen best responder of this post, life is most precious among anything and everything
exist on earth, memories money materials etc ofcourse are important but a lifeless humanbeing ie a deadman cant enjoy
these. So in the situation of earthquake according to your
post I will choose to save myself and would take my pet dog along with me.

If my cat is not out of the house, I will take her. if she is already out then I will take my self. I think I'll try to grab a coat or something to eat, but if I don't have time I'll have to run just like that

i don't even want to imagine it william but if it were to happen, i think i will bring my cpu. ^__^;; only an earthquake right?? no rain and no fire. so, a lot more stuff can be recovered after an earthquake. but if it was my cpu that was destroyed, i'll be so pissed about the lost files and all. ^__^;; so i'll save it and i'll just have to buy new parts like the monitor and everything. ^__^

That's a very difficult question. I have many things to bring with me. I think I'll bring money and my family photo album because they are so important. I have money so that I can live after the earthquake. At least I can use it to buy food and drink and have a place to stay. As to the photo album, they are so precious. If they are gone, even if I have money, I can not buy and get them back.

It sounds reasonable. Without money, we cannot live on after the earthquake, because it is the basic need in our daily life. Without the photo album, we would lose part of our best memories about our past, which is something that we need to value in our life as well. Thanks for your response, my friend.

It could be such because you are in such a hurry to leave the house without getting hurt. And the first reaction that occurs to you is to run away from the dangerous house leaving you no more time to think about the other stuff. Thanks, alnilam.

Good afternoon william.
Talking about earthquakes, remember I had one before? Well... It seems earthquake happened too much often here.
Yesterday, when I drove home, a powerful earthquake hit Jakarta. It was 7.9 Richter. Imagine! The government issue a tsunami warning and people was panicked.
Remember the worst tsunami in Aceh that killed almost 220,000 lives? A well known psychic here once told the news that there will be a tsunami that will hit Jakarta. Sounds so eerie... I hope it won't happen.

I just read this news about the latest earthquake in Indonesia. I feel so bad for the news. I hope that the government is offering lots of aid to people who are suffering from the earthquake. I also know the greatest disaster that the tsunamy brought to people. It has been the worst one in history that has caused so many deaths, I think. It would be nice if these scary disasters can be well contorlled with human will. I hope that you are fine from the earthquake, my dear friend. Stay safe, r_yuen.

"When you're on top of your apartment (30th floor or so...) Whole building will shake!"
So it is not a good idea to live on top? My own apartment is on top. There are altogether seven floors. Mine is on top. Once there is slight shake, my wife felt it and didn't pay much attention to it. I hope that it is safe as always. Maybe you can move on to a place where there is no earthquake to work and live in?

Well, I just felt a small 4 pointer this morning, and I did not have to take anything. It only lasted less than a minute. I live in California and the whole USA knows us for being the land of Earthquakes when it comes to disasters.

Nah, 4.7's are nothing to us, we have had worse. The worse we have ever had was Northridge, and nothing can ever compare to that one.

We have so many earthquakes here in my country, Indonesia. Recently, I experienced it myself in Jakarta. In the middle of the night, I woke up as the earthquake is strong. Then, without warning, I knew it was earthquake and I just took my laptop out of my room. Maybe it's because I stored up so many important data inside. For about 5 minutes I waited before I went inside. Good question, william.

Morning, r_yuen. I am sorry for so many earthquakes in your country. They are really annoying. I am happy to know that your computer is the very thing that you want to take away with you for the most important information so that you won't lose it. Take care of your computer, friend. What's more important, keep safe.

T-shirt is not a big deal. You can just forget it as this is not so important as your computer, which is valuable to you. Stay safe from earthquakes, r_yuen.
By the way, your username sounds like a Chinese name, whom we like to call someone R before his/her name. I call my wife R-zhen or A-zhen as A sounds like R in English.
Thanks for your further response, R-yuen.

Thats a good one. I'd say MONEY ! Wherever you go money will work. No one will ever deny money. Whatever you need money will help you to get it. Even if there's nowhere to spend money people will take it. If you have no money you'll never get a thing ! Thats for sure ! When the horrible event is over and everything goes back to normal - what do you need ? Money, of course ! So never run without money. Take it as a norm !

Hello dear Bluepatch. I like your idea about this. Yeah, money works in many ways and it is a must for us to always have money, otherwise we would not be able to do anything without it. Yeah, take the money away with us in this situation as always. I will take it as a norm. lol
