bad luck? i don't think so. that is a very bad notion that older ones bring about them a bad luck. maybe some incidences are merely accidental, hence, it doesn't apply to all. luck is relative. as to the idea that the older ones are always guilty, it is my view that parents tend to scold them because they are supposed to understand their younger siblings since they are older, and expected to be more mature. furthermore, older siblings are expected to take good care of their younger siblings. maybe these are the reasons why the older ones seem to be held guilty.
thanks

In my case, no. My brother is older and things always seem to go right for him. I tend to have more "stuff" going on in my life. As far as being held guilty - I would say that doesn't apply to my brother and me. My husband has an older brother (by 13 months) and my husband was always the "bad" one in that family. They both were rebellious teenagers, but my husband was always the one that got caught or was held responsible for stuff they both did. Now that they are older, it still seems that my husband's brother is always the "good" son. Doesn't make any sense to me...my husband is a wonderful, generous, considerate, helpful, loving man.
