If parents do not give u money.. who else?

As a child, I often felt let down,(many times over) when my dad never gave me a penny as my pocket money..My mom subscribed 2 the same view..I was a poor little thing always denied but could do nothing.. make no mistake, I love my parents so much, but they subscribe to a view that children should not be given money coz they do not realize how hard it is earned and sometimes get spoiled if left unwatched.. (Both my parents have been employees, had little time for me).. on a personal note, I feel that is negative thinking.. give a little money to ur child and observe how he spends.. observe how he comes to see the outside world all through his spending patterns.. This should be an important first step in his personality development.. I have no sore feelings though as my mother used to pamper me a lot and still does..But money.. unknown commodity.. till my teens.. How do u see it.. Mike
