Do you get nervous when you are going to meet new people?
I always do. I am very shy in real life until I get comfortable with you. We are meeting with a family tonight for me to watch their 6 & 8 year old. I am nervous. My stomach always gets in knots before I do. Then once its over I just feel great relief and I know it wasn't that bad and wonder why I got so nervous.

That is definitely how I feel when meeting new people. They might as well change my name to Nervous Ken or Captain Nervous Ken. LOL My nerves will calm down after talking to that person for a while but the first meeting is always the most difficult for me. When I get nervous, I tend to sweat a lot.

I'm not normally a nervous person when it comes to meeting others but once in a while, especially if it's an important thing. It was probably more a case of nerves like a "new job interview" than anything else.
Relax... put it in perspective.... worse thing in the world is they don't care for you and you are not different now then you were 2 minutes before meeting them!
Good luck!

Oh, it is just the fear of the unknown. What will they be like? What will they think of me? ..... all those unknowns. I think in this case you are justified to be a little nervous because you know they will really be judging you ~ any parent would before deciding to intrust their child to you. Just be natural. You are a wonderful person, they will see that.
I have met so many new people in my life that I no longer get nervous. The last time I was nervous to meet someone was when my husband took me home to his family. That was over 20 yrs ago.

I don't just get nervous when I'm meeting new people. I often feel anxious when I'm going to be around any people; whether it's people I've known for a long time, or people I'm not even going to be talking to. Being around people just generally makes me uncomfortable. I'm super aware of what my facial muscles are doing or how I'm talking and walking. And sometimes I stutter or don't say what I should say, like making small talk -- I'm terrible at it.
It takes me a very long time to feel comfortable with people.
