I believe mylot tells you at the beginning (somewhere) to make your responses and discussions meaningful -some users also will tell you the same thing...this makes a big difference in how much you earn. Maybe your "reputation" or "star rating" has something to do with it too, so you should try to build your rating by doing the same: posting relevant and meaningful responses and discussions. Other than that, I would say, be prolific, try to respond to as many discussions as you can, and try to create as many as you can, as long as they are meaningful and have not been posted before...although there are a lot of discussions here that are very similar...and I guess mylot doesn't really have a rule against posting a discussion that is similar to one already posted. The thing about that is, you may have a lower chance of getting responses to your discussion if it's something that someone else has posted (and gotten responses on)...so keep that in mind when you are thinking of discussions to post.
I have also heard that it helps if you "resolve" your open discussions by marking "best response" around payout time...before the month is up. People have said this makes a difference in your earnings...so you can try that. Of course if you only have one or two responses it is hard to "resolve" them, but you have to decide if it's worth waiting for more responses or if you have the response that best suits you...and also consider how long ago you posted the discussion, because the likelihood of more people responding to it, after it has been around for a long while is much less than when it is new.
Of course, if you can refer new friends to sign up (and post!), that would be an easy way to earn because I do believe you earn more based on how much they earn as well...as far as I recall, but it's been a while since I have looked at the referral rules.
That's all I can think of now. All the best to you!
