Summerslam is coming around in over a month's time and the feud is finally here that's supposed to be big. It's John Cena and Randy Orton. They've had a few one on one matches but have ended without the form of an actual pinfall or submission victory. This will be Randy's 1st one on one WWE Title shot this year. He is the former World Heavyweight Champion and wants to become a 2 time World Champ overall but a 1st time WWE Champ. He's had quite the year being perhaps very controvesial in his actions.
John Cena has almost held the title for 1 full year. He is a 3 time WWE Champion and has only lost to Money in the Bank winners. This one is looking to be a challenge to say the least and had come a bout with Bobby Lashley. He was given the #1 contender spot after knocking Cena out with an RKO.
These two men were looked at as the future of the WWE. More so Orton from what I've noticed. John Cena has more or less been compared to the modern-day version of Hulk Hogan, a wrestler who in his prime was seen as a guy who would beat anyone and everyone that came his way.
Randy Orton however was at one point compared to the Rock I forget how exactly but there is none whatsoever. There really isn't anyone I could see him trying to be exactly at this time. Maybe there is someone but I don't know.
Anyhow, is anyone actually looking forward to this feud right now? I don't know if I am or not. I don't know if it is going to be a good feud or not. It could be but it will all depend on how Raw does the next few weeks to really better decide if it will be the feud to look forward to.
Thoughts?

I'm not at all looking forward to the match. It'd be as boring as hell for me. They have started projecting Cena s invincible and Orton is as boring as always. So it is goin to be dumb. I'll be looking forward to Triple H's return.

I know what you mean. I'm indifferent on the match and I still am at this moment. I've decided I'm going to take a wait and see apporach. It might be good but I don't know. I just don't have that feel of this is the match I really want to see.

I am not thrilled with Orton vs Cena especially since Orton is rumored to be taking the belt. I am a fan of Cena's and was once a fan or Orton's but his backstage behavior and his stalled promo skills just turned me off.
I don't see Cena as a modern Hogan, however. He gets a lot of beatings and has lost a lot of matches unlike Hogan in his heyday. The plan has been for ages for Triple H to take the belt from Cena but, due to his injury, all that was put on hold. Now the plan is for Triple H to return and feud with Orton. Been there, seen that.
I just don't see Orton as a top tier guy although I did at one time. He has stalled in his growth and seems to have stalled in his ring work. He's building up his heel persona well but we saw that too.
Still, the match should be decent. I don't expect it to be an epic or a show stopper but the drama will carry the match. After Cena loses the belt - if he does - I don't know who he will feud with. It was supposed to be Lashley but he's out so I suppose it will be Kennedy. I love Kennedy so it should be entertaining. The two can talk and they can go in the ring - not technically but in an entertaining way.
I would like to see a heel Cena but I doubt that will happen with his current fan base.
SummerSlam won't be great but it will be passable, I think. I am not a Triple H fan so his returning won't make a difference to me. I am a HBK fan and would love him to return and kick things into high gear again!

I heard that about Orton as well but I've also heard something about Cena still winning. I'm guessing he'll keep it and try to go for a year long reign. The only reason I think some might think of Cena as the Modern day Hulk Hogan is how he's beaten just about everybody challenging for the title.
It's not meant as an attack or a bash on Cena, just seems to be that way. It is also true that Cena is on TV more than Hogan due to the era. Orton however I don't see as a top guy yet. I suppose it will take some work.
Hopefully HBK returns soon. I think he'll be back by November at the soonest though this is my guess he will probably take on a lighter schedule.
HHH's return could be interesting but I do think if he sustains one more serious injury, it would be wise to consider retiring or putting on a lighter schedule because those type of injuries are hard to come back from exactly.

Yeah, anything with "Cena" in it is exciting for me, and of course it will be more awesome if he wins this one too. I'd never get bored of seeing him as champ. As far as predictions go though, I have some of my own.
Now both these guys have had recent streaks. John Cena with all his victories in every championship match up and Randy Orton with his destroying of all his opponents, and putting them out of action for a while.
That might come into play. So, as much as I hate to say this, you never know, Randy Orton might put Cena out for a while, who knows, maybe Cena can shoot a movie or two. Well, that's just my prediction, but as far as losing the championship goes, it might be something in the same way as Edge, where he might have to give it up, and then return and reclaim it. It would be good in a way, not for me, I'd miss him, but for everyone else who'll realize his place when he's gone for a while.

I think Cena will be shooting a movie soon. I forget where I read about it but it could be interesting. I think in Edge's case it was more due to legit injury. I guess it's gonna come down to when Cena has to go out and film for a movie or two.

So far it has been great, not up to teh expectations I had planned, but now it seems to be getting betetr. Before Summer Slam, it was just Orton trying to jump Cena, and Cena saying he deserves the title shot. Now we have Orton punting Cena's dad in the head, and Cena going balistic and assaulting the general manager. Now we got Cena becoming more "thuggish" and Orton showing that sadistic side that I am a huge fan of. I hope that Orton will beat cena at Unforgiven like planned and move on the feud to Cyber Sunday or No Mercy, with Orton going over and facing possibly a returning HBK, or possibly even Jericho, if him and WWE decide to come to terms on a contract.
