Do you recognise users by their usernames or their avatars?

Mainly by avatar, as images are easier to memorize. But my friends I recognize more by their names. Perhaps this comes because before accepting a friend's request, I enter the user's page to get information about his/her age and place and some discussions they started. So the person's name gets in my mind and I remember it well.

I always recognise my friends by their user name, of course nice avatar always have in memory. But when I desire to respond then I read the heading and body of discussions and if find easy or funny then reply. For nice avatar you can find here: www.avatarity.com

I recognize people by their avatars. I am a visual person, so seeing a picture is easier for me to remember than their name. I do eventually associate a name with an avatar,not because they have an appealing name. In fact, if I depended on name appeal, there would be some whom I would never respond to or make my friends. But even though I would have difficulty pronouncing their name in real life without them rolling in the floor with laughter or looking at me funny, they do have some very interesting discussions.

I do the same. I would recognize my friends through the avatars that they have. One time I got really confused because there was this friend in mylot who has a particular avatar. He is a newbie basing on the number of his posts. Then I saw this same avatar with more than a thousand discussions and I said, whoaaa… my friend can type and discuss that fast? LOL! Then I saw another discussion on the same page but with the numbers that my friend has. And it dawned on me that they are different users but have the same avatar.
