Envy set in when he knows someone has achieved better than he has and cannot achieved it by himself, while jealousy comes in when he knows that someone has achieved or have something better than he has and determined to have the same as well. So, which do you think is more dangerous? For me, I think we have to be more careful with an envious person because he might just do something bad. While jealous person will try to compete with you.

I can say that both are dangerous while envy is the most. In jealousy, you can neutralize the person or the feeling. sometimes its just plain jealousy and nothing more. But an envious person will do everything he/she can to pull down the person he is envy of. No matter what, he will do everything to make that person crawl. They are very dangerous as they will drag people to hell.

for me the more dangerous is envy. because when you are envy, you can do anything in order to excel more. you can do anything even bad things when you are an envious person. jealosy is just a simple type of being envy. it is the start of being envy. when you are very jealous, it can lead to enviousness. and that is not good.

Agree. envy person are among the person that we considered as bad. They just had something that we don't know until they had done it to us. Something evil..

I don't find much defference between the two. You say envy is dangerous than jealousy, but both are discontent experienced by a person on other's fortune or good achievements. If one has such a feeling to other, it is likely that he or she will always have a hatred towards the person of whom he/she is jealous or envious. It is beneficial for a person to control his jealous or envy towards other, lest it may cause some undesirable situations in his/her life. Thank you ellie.

Being envious...being jealous - both are undesirable . why must you be envious upon someone's achievements.? Why must you be jealous on someone's gains? Life - you are given something to follow...be on your own track .

I think both are equally dangerous, envy may encourage a person to strive better than you and jealousy is sometimes taken as a compliment - meaning that person loves you much but I find both very disturbing.
