I was diagnosed to have goiter, actually there are three nodes found in my throat. After my ultrasound I wasn't able to visit my doctor again because of my busy schedule of being a mom and a dad for 3 kids because my husband works abroad and besides I'm a working mom also. I just wanna know some advice you could give to me what to do, actually i'm afraid of going to the doctor alone and I'm afraid also that the doctor might tell me this case of mine would be for surgery.

You should follow-up those findings..enlargement of thyroid should be treated seriously as it affects your heart. I can tell you that goiter are one of the exclusions that life insurance company don't consider to insure people having it.
I have already undergone throidoctomy in 1993 and the surgery went ok it did not leave any marks or scars on my neck. Just see your doctor when it is on its early stage, anyway when your eyes protrude as well as the lump on your neck you will still see a doctor. Better now or its too late, remember your kids are still young.

mine is non-toxic too but i choose to have it removed because i'm fed up of taking medicines which is very costly. find a time to go to the doctor, nothing to be afraid of..

you don't need to carry heavy things, eat sea foods more and avoid cabbage...go to your doctor then...

thanks for the advise. that's one thing i can't do coz my kids are ages 4, 3 & 2 and at some point they want me to carry them. I know it triggers rapid growth of my goiter but i'm having difficulty in avoiding that.

I was diagnosed with this illness almost a year ago at the age of 16. The 1st doctor we've talked with wants me to have surgery already. That gave me a real big shock! But, he then referred to us a doctor in this field of illness. And now, I'm only taking up several medicines and vitamins. My doctor's waiting for my hormones to be balanced so that we could perform the surgery. I really wanna get healed because my weight seems to be abnormal as well because of the imbalance of my hormones. All I'm doing now [as my doctor says I should do] is avoid JUNKfoods and softdrinks. Just always eat seafoods and healthy foods.

~i'll pray for you! =)
