Office Work - Do you carry it at your home?

I like to spend quality time with my family, whenever I am at my home.
Hence I never carry my office work to my home to be done from home. I find it very inconvenient too.
I would rather sit out late in the office and leave the office only after completing the work.
What is your opinion about it?Do you too finish off the office work in the office or carry it to your home?

I used to bring work home last time. Not that I am unproductive, it is that I need to indulge myself into something, and work is the best. Now, I only work while I am in office. I may still stay late in office but I do not bring work home so far. Work never seem to finish. At least the situation now does not call for it. If need to, I guess I will still bring it back. That's when I need to deliver something urgent. Old habits die hard. LOL.

uh! uh!...that's a big no, no!! Do not bring your work at home. You spent all your day at the office so, better finish everything you have to and reserve others for the next day. Your home is a place where you can have your rest and spend quality time with your family...it's time to be yourself for a while..forget the pressure and stuff. feel your home without the pressure of your work...enjoy!!

I am not working at the moment, so dont have this problem. I would though prefer to finish my work at the office so i have family time at home. But sometimes this isnt possible for people, unfortunately. When i get my cafe up and running i will probably be in this position, unfortunately, but will try and keep things separate.
Best wishes to you, ranjeet

When i was a office girl though i was still single - that time, i never ever do bringing my office work at home, i rather want to spend my free time with my baby sister before and mingle with my friends atnight, but not now, im a full time housewife and mother with my kids but i most hated now IS - my husband, he used to bring his office work at home and thats the worst thing he done to our life. He work almost 24 hours outside or into their office, he used to be with customers, had a business trip, goin back home late and STILL hes keeping up to hurry - opening his msn account at home cause he needs to talk to someone in msn live or skype. I feel wiered too if hes talkin to some girls (which he told me that it was just a customer or his co workers or officemate), through mobile or especially in msn he dont want us, me or the kids, to say something or make some noises, so that on the other line could not here us, seems like hes tryin to let know someone that hes alone or i dont know what was really the best reason why he do that.
I really dont know I really cant understand in that situation - as always....
Your a guy and a husband and a father now, can i ask any sharing to this especially advice?....
Thank you very much, this should be your discussion lolz, but i edit more lols, sorry...

As much as possible, I wouldn't want to take home my work because I'd like my time at home spent with my family. I'd make it a point to finish my critical tasks at the office, then just continue with less critical the next day. I'd like to surf the web when I'm at home or watch TV with my brother.

I think the only way you are going to discover whether or not an internet opportunity is a scam is to read what others have said about it and then try it for yourself. It takes some commitment to get it all up and running and regular discipline to work at it, particularly in the early stages. I found it best to be as honest as possible about the opportunities you promote. If people have trust in a person, they will work with them.
If you take a look at my profile - http://mylot.com/derek_a - there are opportunities I have put on there and programs to help you get referrals. With each venture, link back to the other one. Getting referrals, as many as possible is important. There are billions of people on the Internet and a great number of them are interested in business opportunities. Good luck. :-)

Most of the time, I dont take my office works to home. But at some scenarios, when I have to take some urgent calls, then I will work from home. But I will always ensure that I compensate for that office hours at home later.

I love my work. I believe that if you enjoy you, work becomes less strain and stressful. But, money is other important factor. It does not affect my productivity at work. It effect my financial status. So, I am going to quit my job as leader this 14th.
Well, I mostly complete all my work during my office hours. But, work always stay in mind at home. I always keep thinking of work work and only work even at home. While talking to my family also I speak on topics related to work and office.
I know it's very bad for me as a person, talking only about my work and office. I think I am bit workoholic.

Before I usually bring papers work at home and even ask my sister to help me out. But then I realize that I should also have time for myself and spend time with my family. With that I manage my time and make it possible that everything would be complete each day and if there will be unfinish task i always ensure that this will be done first thing in the morning but so far all my transactions was done completely at the end of the day.

I NEVER carry work home...it's crates to many problems. For one I work at a bank MAJOR VIOLATION if I did this. And two, I can't stand doing work at work so at home is definitely out of the question. I love my job but I hate the paperwork. Enough said thanks ;)

When I was working in the IT industry, we were required to carry our laptops home as our work require us to communicate with the rest of the world 24x7. It is a little horrendous and I could hardly have a good night sleep. As it is, the day is illed with meetings after meetings leaving us with no time to do our own work. Even sitting in late in the office do not guarantee that we can have the work done.... I think this is absolute nonsense and I had since quit that job!!

Dear Ranjeetkolarkar, I never carry office work to house. It is against my principle. Once my boss wanted me to take home the office work but I refused. After staring at me for few minutes, he said O.K. I will appreciate you to look for new employment. I said I was glad to. When I reached my home my wife said your boss telephoned you and asked you to contact him immediately. When I contacted him he said he was sorry for the words. I was so confident that they could not sack me because without me it was not easy for them to run the office as I was working in that organisation from the inception and knew ins and outs of all activities of the organisation. Moreover owner of the company knew me personally well. The fact was, as soon as I left the office, my boss telephone the owner of the company that he had sacked me. The owner of the company said he was interested to sack my boss for he having had sacked me. I just mentioned the episode for my hatredness bringing office work to house.

i never carry my work home. even when i was still working in a very busy manufacturing company and it was really demanding, i never tried to bring work at home. i always thought that work should never go out of the office and ishould maintain my social and family life. and still after years of working now and even if i transfered work already, i still stick to that thought. it also helps that my work now is not demanding as before, i'm planning to have masteral degree now so i really dont need to carry work at home.

Considering that I am currently self-employed at the moment, all of my office work is done at home. Except for the very small amount that I have time to do in between my classes. It is what happens when you are a college sophomore whose only source of income is being a freelance writer. I do try to limit it to certain hours of the day, so that it doesn't cut into the time that the wife is at home and awoke. Thourgh to be honest, part of that is pure self-defense. I can't stand people interrupting me when I am writing.

Unfortunately, I'm guilty. *huhu* I work as an accountant and the 8 hours are not enough to finish my works, especially accomplishing month-end reports. I handle more than one clients, so I really need to carry some works at home so I could meet up the deadline.
My parents understand me, at the moment. And in a way, it's a good thing that I don't have my own family yet. :) hehe
Enjoy your weekend! :)
Take care always and God bless! (",)
