I am looking for advice on whether or not a fear I have is realistic or unrealistic, but first I need to tell you a little story. Please read this, even though it may be a little long, and please help! Thanks!
I work with children at the Ymca. There is a family that lives next door to us. Well my parents own a duplex, and the guy on the other side is moving out, and my boyfriend and I are going to get to move in, because my parents are giving it to us for a really low price. Well, the family next door brings their children to the YMCA where I work. One day they asked me if my dad was going to be renting out the other side, and I lied and said I did not know. Well last night the dad came over and asked my dad, and my dad told him it was already rented. Well obviously they're going to see me moving in next door and living there, and I am worried that they will get mad that I lied to them, and to get revenge the mom might call my boss and make up some story about me or say I'm not good with the kids or something, trying to get me in trouble. I am very worried about this, because I love my job. Do you think this is a realistic fear?

I think that that is a realistic fear. What you're thinking may or may not happen. Try not to dwell too much on the what ifs and try to prepare as to how to actually handle the situation. :) you could always opt to be honest and tell them that you had lied or just try to wait for what will come your way and then handle it in your own way :) Anyway, good luck on this :)
