A Sheriff in Arizona last Friday started a tip hot line for people to call in and report illegal immigrants. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,290861,00.html So Far they have gotten 300 calls, all of which they are investigating before they act on the tips. Latinos in the community are upset by this move.
Personally, I think this is great. The government could use all the help it can get to get rid of illegal immigrants. This tool should be used to report anyone here illegally - regardless of what country the come from.

Do you think people will actually use it? Me? I just don't know. I think I would be too afraid...maybe retaliation. Its hard enough for me to tell on my neighbors who let their animals loose to do their business in my yard. :-(

Why would you be afraid. No one would know you called unless you told them. It would be like calling Crime Busters or that type of Hotline. You don't even have to tell them your name.

I know other people on My Lot who would agree with this. Having a hotline is a sure way to report any offence, including illegals.
I don't have quite the strong feelings regarding illegals, not being from the US..
We have hotlines for a number of issues.
The Police hotline where people can be annoymous & report offences. Then there is the centrelink hotline, where people can report others illegally applying for government benefits. We have the terrorist hotline too.

I agree with you, I once heard that if the U.S had as strict imigration laws as Mexico that we wouldnt have this problem..
