What type of games are you trying to play on your computer? What computer do you have? Are you looking for something that will run games right now or the really high end games that will be coming out towards the end of this year? That will make a huge difference in the type of car you will want to get.

alot of it depends on what kind of memory and what not you have...if you go more into that i can tell you exactly what you need.
you need to make sure you have other things on your cpu that will allow the graph card to run effectively.

I was at a computer shop that day and was recommended Geforce cards, as alternative to ATI ones

The NVidia GForce series is very good. try going for a PCI express. If you can't go for an AGP slot card. Regular PCI sucks.
