I've been too busy these past few months that I've only been able to log in now. Glad to be back. Anyways, I just wanted to do this discussion since I've been raring to talk about the book with someone but it turns out, none of the people I know have read or finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. First off, I REALLY hated the fact that JK killed off Fred. He's one of my favorite characters. I mean, I guess, it's better him than Harry but, I wish there weren't so many deaths. I agree with the Times Review that the Harry Potter series became increasingly dark since Book 4. I wish there were more Ginny-Harry moments. Yeah, I know, this is a children's book and not a love story, but still, for a book that claims that the greatest magic is love, it's still full of death. But I have to say, this is the best book I've read since Book 4. I was disappointed by Book 5 and 6 but this book redeemed the entire series. JK really did a good job about tying in all the little details from the previous books. Hope other people will share about their thoughts on the book.

What I want to know is where/when/how Draco supposably "won" the Elder Wand?

Like what sunnypub said, in book 6 when draco used expelliarmus on Dumbledore when he was in the tower just after he and harry landed on their broomstick. I on the other hand, am still thinking how Harry won the elder wand from Draco. I haven't gotten around to skimming the book again. I thought it may have been when they were in the mansion but I can't remember if Harry used expelliarmus on Draco or if the act of just snatching away the wand means he won it. Besides, does the act of taking away Draco's wand even if it is not the elder wand means that Harry won the Elder wand as well?

I didn't remember that - guess I should've reread the 6th book - it has been a while after all.

I thought this book has a kind of campy feeling...I mean they lived outdoors and their complaints about how much it sucks to live outdoors kind of got to me after a while.. I liked the whole Tale of The Three Brothers subplot,a nice clever touch. So in theory Harry could be a descendant of the third brother in the story since he inherited the invisibility cloak that may or may not be the same one in the story. I kind of guessed Snape was in love with Harry's mum since he kind of got mad every time someone mentions how much Harry looks like his dad but his eyes are his mums... Just think of how the story might have changed if Lily had married Snape instead of James.Think along the lines of Harry Snape (ha,ha). Then Snape probably wouldn't be the bitter middle aged man he was!!!
