depends on your age realy,I always have been a fan of elvis, and if I had my way,the beatles plane should have been shot down before it got to the U.S.
they destoyed music.
Now that I have gotten that off my chest, everyone can blast me.
Please remember,I grew up when music was enjoyed and not an ear splitting noise.

I'm 23 years old and I have to say, I know a lot more about Elvis than I do the Beatles. I heard a lot more Elvis songs growing up than the Beatles. Personally, I couldn't even tell you some song titles that the Beatles have sang. I'm sure if I heard the songs, I would eventually say the Beatles sang that, but not off the top of my head. Wierd, huh.

Having grown up during the height of the Beatles popularity, and becoming a fan of their creativity in music, I'd vote for them.
However, I know Elvis was influential in the Beatles' lives and music, so one could say the Beatles were a bit of an 'extension' of Elvis, thus Elvis' popularity becomes exponentially greater than theirs!
Tough question! Both were great!

its tru that both cant be compared but its just a mtter of liking and preference. there is no doubt about the fact that elvis has been and always be the most popular artist.

I think the Beatles were alot more popular than Elvis in the 60`s.Elvis gained alot of his popularity back in the 70`s then they were probably equal in popularity or pretty close.I always liked the Beatles alot more,I liked their songs more and they wrote most of their songs. They were forced to do some cover songs early in their career but soon were writing all their own stuff.Elvis never wrote any of his songs,I believe he got credit for a song or two by paying for co writer credit, pretty sad,it`s almost like going deer hunting, having a deer you didn`t shoot die near you and claim you killed it.

Who cares if the Beatles wrote their own stuff, here our subject is about popularity.....Dylan wrote his own stuff but this didn't make him more popular than Elvis...I'm not an Elvis fan but I see in our days that Elvis is larger than any other artist came out in 50s, 60s or 70s.... He might not writing his own songs but as Don McLean, I think, said one time:"Elvis gave songs a touch of class" no matter whose songs were..
