like I do? My husband and I both work, not the best paying jobs out there, but at least its work. We both have been looking for new jobs and I've been fortunate to have found one that pays more than where I'm at now, but its still not going to be enough to pay the bills. What do you do to help you get through the hard times?

We are kind of struggling a bit now since my husband got fired from his job almost a month ago. But we aren't hurting. When he does work and as long as he gets the same paying job he had, we do pretty okay financially. I don't work, but I do watch kids in my home which helps give us that little boost to play with or put away in savings.
As for what we are doing right now with no real steady income. We aren't really doing anything. We stay home and do things around here. We also don't grocery shop as often as we did nor do we eat out much at all. Maybe once a week at a fast food place, but that is it.

Most people I know are struggling financially, with gas going up, food Way Up, etc. We're retired, on a fixed income, and it's getting harder every month to make it go around.
BUT, my daughter sent me an email about a month ago about a business I could do on my computer, free. I've been really working at it, and have already made a couple hundred extra- I'm happy!
I'm aiming for doubling it next month, since I'll have a better idea of what I'm doing, so we may be able to go out for dinner soon- and maybe a vacation next year if I can keep it growing!

On average a month we probably spend 300 for groceries maybe 200. Just depends. Sometimes its less and sometimes its more.

I don't know if you qualify for any aid (like food allowances) but if you are REALLY hard up I would suggest you try for it. I think most college students who work are eligible for food assistance if you are in the USA. Not too sure on that, though. Other than that I can't offer too much advice other than looking for more work, maybe. You could also sell any extra stuff around the house on Ebay!! I have seen people make good money like that... one person's junk is another man's treasure!

Thanks for your suggestions and I already have done that, sell stuff around the house that is. I am not eligible for any assistance as I make too much on my own, not including my husband's income. I don't have any family that can help me out either when the going gets tough so I have to figure a way out, but I just want to know at times that I'm not the only one, you know what I mean?

Yeah I know what you mean! Sometimes times can get pretty hard for most people, I think. One of the reasons I'm here on this site, to tell the truth, haha! It might be a little bit, but every wee bit helps, lol. ;o) Good luck with everything

I do struggle financially especially since i'm in college with a lot of student loans and it's only my first year. I work as a babysitter and i earn pretty good $1,000 a month or somewhere around there. Most of it I give to my mom to help her out. Then I do sites like this to have some extra cash lying around in my paypal account so that when we don't have cash i'll have some money in my account to get us through. Good luck with your new job. ^_^

That's good to hear that you are in school, because that is definitely important. However, I am out of school and will be paying my student loans back here within a few months unless I enroll back up, but my struggles are just to be able to survive. Thanks for sharing!!
