If you found a lost cell phone would you try to return it to its owner?

I'm just curious, I found one, and got it back to the owner, and they didn't seem that appreciative. Would you go to the trouble, and track down the owner?

That's crappy...you took the time to track down the owner of the cell phone and he wasn't impressed...gee...if I lost one I'd be so happy to have someone give it back to me...but yes, I would return it to its owner

i would surrender it to the police and let them make the necessary actions of announcing a lost cellphone. ^__^

Oh my! I most certainly would try to track down the owner as I would want to be tracked down if I had lost my cell phone! I can't believe the person wasn't tripping all over themselves trying to thank you! Cell phones are expensive and I'd hate to have to buy a new one!

Honestly bonbon it would all depend where I found the cell phone. If I found it in a store I would turn it in to the person at the till as they would probably go back once they realized it was gone and were re-tracing steps. If I found it while I was out for a walk or something though then I would turn it in to the Police. Either way it would hopefully get back to it's owner. I guess I wouldn't want to track the owner down myself incase that made them think I had originally taken it. Some people get the craziest ideas I tell you!

I would try to find the owner. I guess some people just don't care when they lose something. But for most of us, a cellphone is expensive and I would love it if someone found and returned mine. It made you feel ggod about yourself and its sad that they were not appreciative but some people are normally rude!

I know mine was stolen but I would hope that if anyone found it they would at least hand it in to the police station, it may only be a mobile phone but on it there can be a lot of personal stuff personal to who the phone belongs to. Like mine had a lot of photos on it which I lament the loss off. So if I found one I would always take it to the police station.

Yes, I would try and find the owner. After all, it's the right thing to do. In your case it sucks that the owner didn't seem appreciative. I lost my cell phone once. I was so happy to have it back. Though I didn't get a chance to thank the person who found it as they had turned it in to the book store I had accidentally dropped it in. I wouldn't have known it was there at all, but I called up my cell phone (luckily it was on) and someone at the bookstore answered letting me know that I had indeed left it there.

Hey. Actually my son has found 2 cell phones so far, both at school, both times he handed them into the school office, in which the owners appreciated and thanked him... If I lost my phone I would hope someone honest finds it... You can get the odd person seeming un appreciative... Good for you on handing back to them...

There are people and people. I found one ... a nice one... expensive one... the kindda phone i'd never afford... It was still on and I looked for phone numbers such as "mom" or others. But before I got a chance to call "mom" the owner called on the phone. I answered and told him I had found him. We met, I got it back to him, got a little reward though I had not asked for it and we remained friends. Well, I think that if I ever lose my phone I'd like for someone to give it back to me. So yes, I'd do this again and again, every time I'd find one even if people who lose it are rude.
