They've been going at it since 7 this morning...

I'm not kidding: Since 7:00 this morning, the people across the alley from us have been pounding, grinding, scraping, and generally making a whole lot of very unpleasant noise. What the heck are they doing? Why, they're constructing a garage pad.
Now that I have your attention, how do you feel about being woken up at 7am by a construction crew right across your alley or street?

Wow! That must have made for a horrible headache..It would be very unpleasant. Yesterday I was taking a nap and the guy next door starting up his dirtbike and scared the crap out of me..Not his fault I was sleeping at 6pm. 7 am is a little early for that kind of noise to be happening. Maybe they could have come over and told you that this was going to be happening..

Hi Feona. :)
Yeah, it started a headache, alright - and get this: they're still at it!
The problem is our municipal bylaws state that from 7am until 10pm, noise is allowed. So, construction noise, parties, and anything else that's really noisy is allowed, within those hours. *sigh* If it wasn't so hot here, right now, I'd have closed my windows...
Your description of the dirt bike incident brought a smile to my face, though - and I'm sorry, because I know it WASN'T funny. It's just the mental image (rather cartoonish in nature) made me giggle a little, is all. :)

Isn't it dark out at 10pm for construction to be going on outside anyway..That is a bummer..I laughed about the dirtbike incident too, because it made me jolt upright and I already have a kink in my neck, and that noise did not help my neck one bit..I told my sister that my neck hurts when I wing it to the right, and she says, "then stop winging it." *laughing* That is very good advice.

Nope - not dark at all. It's summer here, and the days are verrrrrry long - it doesn't actually get too dark to see until around 11pm or so... *sigh*
As for "winging it" Feona, I really just can't reply to that, because I'm laughing too hard at having done something similar to myself on more than one occasion. LOL :D

ROFL! You liked that, eh, 34momma? :D For once, I actually came up with something clever! LOL
Thankfully, the construction noise isn't bombarding me today - well, not so far, anyway, and it's approaching noon where I am. Hopefully, the work that required all the construction equipment is finally done; what a racket they were making! ::blinks::
