AFter hearing about the great reviews of the latest harry potter movie, i decided to begin reading the series of Harry potter books even though i do not read very much. I just finished the first book today, "THe sorcer's stone". I thought it was great, and can't wait to start the next book. Again i do not read very much and it took me three days to finish this one as it was so good. I was just wondering if there are any other series like this one?

the first book, it's actually called Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. that's the title the author gave it after all
;)
I relly enjoyed the Harry Potter books, but I do prefer Phillip Pullmans "His Dark Materials" series. it's a bit more special.

To tell you the truth, I don't even own any one of them. I wish i had because I'd like to see what the stories about, but by the time I started I would hear from everyone else about what happened. I never even watched any of the movies, isn't that sad? Haha.

yea i borrowed the first book from my sister which is the only one i have read. Same here i haven't seen any of the movies and i have no idea about the plot besides the first one. I would rather read the series first and then watch the movies.

Yeah, and I found out that if you want to see the movies around here. You have to go to the book section in Walmart, or you have to go into a Barnes & Noble and buy the movies there, because they don't sell them in the electronics department of most stores. And they also don't have them at the rental places. I will probably read the books before I watch the movies.
It was awesome because a book that I read when I was in the sixth grade is now a movie. Blood & Chocolate which is about werewolves and I thought was really entertaining. So I will have to watch that movie now, seeing how I have already read the book.
