What is faith?

This is most certainly not a religious question, unless you want it to be.
Simply, 'What is faith?' Is it the same as 'belief', or is it something else? Does it even exist, or is it just a human concept that has been developed to make us conform?
I have my own opinions on the subject, but I'm interested in finding out more about what myLot users think.

or like it says in the dictionary: belief or trust in someone or something without logical proof.

Faith keeps me going. I believe I can do something. I believe I will get help in doing something, often from a higer power or energies around me. Faith helps to keep me strong.

That's a great way to describe it. Keep you faith strong and it will and it will give you strength in return :)
