I was wondering how I could change the index.php to show my blog homepage. I bought a domain name and it works fine when I type in the URL like http://gajemaster.com/blog but it loads up my hosting providers site when I type in http://gajemaster.com I was told that I needed to make an index.php page and upload it into the old one. How do I do that and how do I make one so that it looks just like my blog when you type in gajemaster.com ? Please help me, I am desperate and the search that I have been doing on the web, has not helped me at all.

Your blog is working fine for me, but there is a problem with the home page now!! That looks like a brand new wordpress blog, if you want some ideas on the best plugins you can check this out http://www.brilliant4.com - they are all free and will help you monetise your blog. Also you are using the default blogroll, which is set up to link to a load of people you don't know. You can delete them in your dashboard.

I found my problem and thought that I would list it here so that everyone could see it just in case they have the same trouble. When you load the file index.html, try taking it and renaming it to index.htm I did this and it worked fine. I got the answer off of Yahoo Answers. This is another place that I use to look for answers.

That's a common error amongst beginners. Web links needs to be precise and accurate. If your extension is .htm ... you won't find your page if you look for .html Same thing if you use capital letters in your folders or files. The domain is not case sensitive because capital letters are forbidden. But anything after the domain name is case sensitive. So if you type "blog" instead of "Blog"... you won't find it. While I am guilty of using capital letters... it is probably better not to use them at all... as it will prevents mistakes taking place. Sub-domains are not allowed either to start with a capital letter.

Furthermore... if you want your blog on your index page... you must install your blog in your root directory rather than in a folder called "blog". And don't forget to delete your index.htm file before doing so.

Hey, I just looked at your gajemaster.com (your main site) and I get a blank page. You mentioned in the post above that you had fixed it so I'm not sure whether it's just stopped working or if you tried something different. You can simply change the file name you saved your main page as - by default if you set up a webpage it generally saves as htm or html - but if you want you can just rename it to index.php then remove the original one that is there - index.html I'm not sure how you can make it so it looks exactly like your blog page - but you can set up a webpage and add in the rss feed of your blog - so the front page has some info etc then the latest 10 entries of your blog etc.

I finally did it. I messed it up when the server went down. I thought that it was because of something that I did but it wasn't. I messed it up by trying to fix somthing that did not need to be fixed. I then went and did a search on the subject and found a solution. I used word Frontpage to build it just like my blog and the problem was fixed once I saved it. Hopefully I wont mess it up again.
