hello there, there are a lot of girls who are just like you and I'm one them before :) I'd like to share some of what I did to overcome this stuff...first, love and appreciate yourself (but don't over do it 'coz it may have a different outcome), then try to open up with your family first (serves as a practice of getting use with people), try to believe that "you don't care what they think", MINGLE - mingle with friends that you have the same interests and with those who don't (just don't criticize they're opinions), SMILE - this one is a really good thing to do, think POSITIVE - people doesn't always think bad about you...SOCIALIZE, it would really help...just try to open up bit by bit..confidence cannot be adopt overnight, take each step at a time. :) hope this helps..
