What is your opinion of Capital Punishment?

I use to think that it was ok, but I have come to realization that justifying killing someone just to satisfy our needs of revenge or whatever it may be it not right. I mean everyone has a chance to change, I know that they still should face their conquences. But what is your opinion?

I think that our legal system doesnt provide equal justice and is more likely than not to get the wrong person in capital crimes. I would rather incarcerate so that if innocence can be proven then it can be corrected. Judgement is God's

Yep I agree, I think we just us capital punishment as way to try and give justice to situations. Judgement is defiantely Gods and his alone. Thanks for your response.

We just talked about this at church last week! They are going through the 10 commandments and we were on the week about "you shall not murder". Our pastor said he felt this commandment was not referring to capital punishment because of Lev. 24:17-18 and Rom 13:4. Read them and let me know what you think. I think he made a lot of sense.
