In the present day what is the most important quality a teacher should have ?

Take only a school teacher.
Could it be: (1) to control the students and maintain discipline, (2) to teach whatever the school admin has instructed (3) handle the children with cane or heart (4) ensure they are taught to the best of the teacher's ability to inculcate in them the right traits of making them perfect citizens (5) any other specific performance

I think the most important qualities for a teacher is having a great deal of patience, an even temperment, a real love for children, a passion for learning themselves and a passion for the subject that they teach(this one is for middle school/junior high and higher grade levels).
