The medication I'm on at the moment has a laundry list of major side effects, but the only one I've been saddles with is sleeplessness and tonight is a doozy. Can't get to sleep for love or money. I've just taken a couple of sleeping pills which I hate to do because they make me feel very groggy the next day...I hate feeling this way....sorry for the whining

I'm sorry inked! Sometimes when I can't sleep I take one (not two as recommended) Benadryl and it puts me right to sleep. One doesn't seem to give me that hangover the next day as two does. Also, you might try Valerian...a natural relaxant...sold in healthfood stores.

Aww, hunny! *hugs for you* Insomnia is the worst. I used to get it really badly, so that I didn't even know what day it was. Just stay in your jammies and have lots of hot drinks and smell lavender.. all those things helped me! x

That's too bad inked! Nothing is worse than having insomnia when you're tired. I was having the same kind of night as you, although I'm not on any meds that would do it. I found out my oldest daughter was rushed to emergency because of premature labor, and some other problems with the pregnancy. She lives more than 3 hours away, and I can't drive at night anymore. I'd lay down and try to get some shut eye, but found myself wide awake. Then I'd get up and turn on the computer, but was too tired and it bothered my eyes, so I'd lay back down. About 3am I finally had a cup of hot spearmint tea. I don't know why, but that helped. I don't know what kind of med you're on, but Crazynurse is right on with the benedryl. You'd have to call your pharmacist and ask him if it's compatable with the med you're taking. I take one once in a while when I can't sleep and it works like a charm. (I don't think they're addicting like sleeping pills are.) Hope you have a wayyyyyyy better night tonight!
