I'm from Philippines, definitely I'm a Filipino.
My husband is British (half Scottish-half English)
His ex-wife was Spanish.
So his kids are a mixture of Spanish-British
My stepson, always brags about being Spanish... that they're the best in almost everything. He attacks other countries anytime he fancy doing.
So my husband would correct him. That if you're British you have more advantages than others. Simply, they're the best.
I keep quiet everytime the two of them brags about their nationality and country, which is almost everyday and getting kinda boring actually. LOL! I only open my mouth if they start attacking Philippines. But most of the time they don't and won't even dare. hehehehehe
I know they just do it to bug each other, but sometimes its getting serious and they'll end up fighting which is really pathetic.
Do you really believe that one nationality is better than another?
If so, why?
What's your nationality? You think you're better than the others?

I don't really believe that any one nationality is better than others. I think there are many beautiful cultures, and I love learning about other people's cultures. =)
I am American, and my heritage is half Irish and half Native American. There are many things about both of those cultures that I enjoy learning about, and indeed my religious beliefs come from ancient Ireland (before Christianity came there). But I don't think that either of my heritages are better than anyone else's, and I love learning about cultures that I'm not a part of as well as the ones that I am.

Being with people of different nationalities is good, you'll be able to know about their culture deeper. My country is very rich in culture, for the reason that we've been colonized by different countries..my family heritage is rich, (chinese, spanish), because of our ancestors.

Where I live is very near a popular technological school, and people come from many countries to go to school here. I work at a bank that is very close to the campus, so I have been lucky to have many of the international students as my customers. I have met people from all over Europe, from Asia, from Africa... so many different people with different cultures! And it's amazing how much people will teach you when they find out you are interested! I am lucky to have such a chance to learn!

No - I don't think any one nationality is better than any other. We are all people, and we are all equal in my opinion. I am British - I was born in England with an English Father and a Belarussian Mother. I am bery proud of my Russian heritage, but I don't think it's any worse or better than my English half! My partner is from Argentina - but his Father was actually Italian. My first husband was Scottish. So to me - excess xenophobia and bragging about your country and your nationality is just plain stupid, and dangerous too, as it can lead to fights and trouble.

The "Nation State" is something quite new in the history of the world. Nationalism is nothing more than a socio-cultural construction that was kind of invented in the 18th and 19th centuries. There was time when there was only Empires and City States inhabited by people of different tribes and ethnic groups. As someone once said: "patriotism (the love of your country) is the last refuge of the scoundrel".
Today within nations there are so many different ethnic groups that have intermixed. If you trace your ancestors back far enough you will find that they scatter the globe. There is no pure blood and no pure race except for the human race.
So in order to answer your interesting question: no nationality is superior because everyone is a mixture of everyone else.

I do not think that one's nationality is better than the other. I am also a filipino like you and damn i am proud of it! i know some british people (my bosses), they have their own share of attitudes... some is "parang laking-kalye", one is very professional looking and acts like it sometimes... hehhehehe, one is very timid & shy, and one is a type who worries on everything even though he don't have to... and i do not think it is because of their nationality... it is not a question of one's nationality... but of one's attitude...

i do not think one nationality is better than another, well some really are extreme but mostly if we look at the countries with similar standard i would not say it is so. all have their advantages and disadvantages. it all comes to it that all nationalities have good people and bad people. I am Slovenian, i do not think i am better than other nationalities nor do i think i am worst than them. but i am proud that i am Slovenian and may sometimes brag about it. i like to state the advantages of being a Slovenian.

One nationality might be better than the others in some respect, not in all things and it is difficult to generalize. I believed it has something to do what their nation's accomplishments and standing in the world community that's why a citizen of one nation says his nationality his better than the other.

I am half Italian, half French. I love being both. Some people think Italians are nicer than French people but that's not really true. So I'm glad that I'm not just one but both. It's a nice mix :)
