What has changed since 25 years?

I worked in 1983 as a visitor exchange trainee through MCC (Mennonite Central Commitee) in the Steinbach Credit Union. It was a very exciting and superb time! I was accommodated at Gordon Kornelson from Mitchell. Each day we drove in his small Ford (Fiesta?) to work. For me as a young swiss professional it was a great opportunity to get to know another country, other mentalities and get new skills, which I could use in my further life. I'm wondering, what has changed in Steinbach since then? Are people still settling and finding new jobs?
