I would like to take up photography as a hobby but since this hobby is quite expensive I will have to content myself with a digital camera. Problem is, I am a point and shoot photographer. Like for example this photo that I have taken a few days ago, can the reflection of light be avoided? I would like to learn some tricks on how to take great photos. Any tips?

hi mari,
i am very blunt regarding this. but starting off with a digital is a good idea. since you can experiment a lot without any extra expense. just go on taking shots, framing is important. the focus (the object you want to shoot) should be the middle of the frame. light plays an important role. try and shoot with the light facing the object.
thanx.

Thanks! Yup, I've taken a lot of shots and I've experimented with the angles. I guess I will have to experiment more now on lighting:P

yes, light is very important. try photographing in natural light and avoid flashes. flash actually enhance the shoot and you ability goes ashtray.

to take photos you'l just hav to learn the knack of photography which is simple and tough at the same time. i suggest reading a bit about it on th web. one of the main things in mobile photography is to take the veiwfinder as a grid of 2 lines in ur mind, and then place the object in one of the junctions of those lines. basic thing is the bject should never be in the center, because that would amek it lesss interesting.

Thank you so much for that suggestion. Hmm.. so maybe that is the reason why some of my photos don't turn out fine. I usually take pics with the object in the center. Thanks, I will keep what you have said in mind.
