My youngest son is premature at 29weeks. His birth weight was 1.25kg. He is 1yrs and 8 mths now and his weight is only 9kg. Is there any way to increase his weight? He is a very active boy. Maybe that's the reason whe is isn't gaining weight much althought he eats at every 1hrs interval.

This question is definitely best suited for your pediatrician. But, here is a little advise that might help... I have been a caregiver many years for the elderly. Sometimes a patient just needed a few more calories then they were able to consume through their regular meals and therefore would need to drink a can or two of Ensure every day. I do not recommend Ensure to your small child, but there is also Pediasure. I would consult your child's pediatrician to see if this would be a good source of extra nutrition for your child.
NOTE: It is not recommended to up your child's fat intake with a bunch of empty calories, such as simple sugars or foods with high fat like fried foods. I would also like to say... You only mentioned your child's weight. Their height and bone structure should all come into play. My daughter was very tiny as well, but once she started reaching her teen years everything started to change.

My daughter was on time (or there abouts) & she is now 14 months - she only just now weighs 10 kilo so your son probably isn't doing too bad for a premature baby, well i don't think so :)
Maybe you could just try getting him to eat a few more things with a bit higher fat content, then he'll slowly gain weight but with his activity wont get fat or anything.
Ask your Dr what's good for him to eat to help increase his weight without making him blow up like a balloon.
Good luck, xxx
