A Lifetime to Forget Someone.

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
There is none that can forget someone that they really have loved in the past and it takes just a little reminder from a music record on the radio or tv to bring it back in an instant.
Did I stir a memory up for YOU?

scars remind you of the pain that was there before. soon you'll outgrown it and will be smaller than you can imagine..

Sometimes, just sometimes, tunes remind me of things and people, but not always.
However, in one case, I was sent a few songs which "reminded somebody of me", and which were truly thought provoking records, that now make me cry when I hear them because things have changed so much. I like to be sent music as a gesture like that, and listened intently to the words. lol.
There are a few others besides those, to do with another situation, which make me feel nostalgic... but they gradually fade, and I don't always notice them after a while.
Brightest Blessings my friend.

I have a cd here, which I was given from somebody's personal collection, and which, when I played it, made me cry. It has some very pagan songs on it, and in between, the Legend of Glastonbury, and Abbot Whiting.
I know that this CD is difficult to get hold of, and that is was a very treasured possession of his, so I offered to rip it to my computer, and let him have it back, to which he replied... "No... it's one of my favourites, but I want you to have it." Boy... I was lost for words and you know how unusual that it, my dear friend! ha ha ha

I agree absolutely. Maybe everyone has ever had such an experience. Me,too. It is really sweet and also painful. Where should I start? Just like a road that has no end, which you may knew from the beginning, but probably you will choose to traval on. The heart has no other choice.

There's actually a few songs that bring back old Junior High and High School memories of old flames etc. I have joined a site looking for a few old flames/friends due to this feeling in my heart etc. I have no interest lovewise just wish to get a hold of some old friends/flames. One such old flame is brought to mind everytime I hear Rod Stewarts "Maggie Mae". I had an old girlfriend named Maggie that I sang this too a lot. I can't sing either but she loved hearing it from my mouth though. Go figure huh?

Hahaha... With your title I remembered one of Pablo Neruda's poems. You know that guy?? He's such an emo, but yeah, he's very good in imagery ahehe... The poem was, "Tonight I can Write..." and there was a line there which states that to love and be in love is just short, while to forget that someone, it takes a very long time... Ahaha.. I guess I have to agree on that. It sure is hard to forget, knowing how much you've loved that someone. Haha... Such an emo stuff, but I guess a lot of people can relate.^_^ And I have to agree with you, sometimes you're suddenly reminded of that feeling you're now trying to forget. Such a pain in the butt-I mean heart. But then I guess, maybe saying that we've forgotten someone doesn't mean we don't love that person anymore... Maybe the feeling's just not the same as before... Nothing to fuss about or something... Ahehe.. Or, maybe it still depends on the situation

Two years ago, I fell love with him just a time of supper. He has his own family, a wife and a son. But I loved him very much. I was so willing to devote my everything to him. We made love. But several months later, he told me he will not married me, but he loves me very much. In the later time, he will not together with me. I can do the only thing is forgetting him. But I can not, not really.

Yes indeed! I still can't get over my first love, my only love. It's been 10 years and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. OMG I was so stupid I broke up with him because I thought the grass was greener on the other side (it totally wasn't) and I regret it ever since. I'm a little more concerned about him now because he's on his 2nd tour of Iraq. I got back in touch with him last November after about six years because I had a dream about him. He emailed me back only once since last November. I pray for him every day he's always on my mind.
