the most important and fundamental teaching of Islam is the belief in the oneness of God - that is termed as "Tauheed". This is explained in Kalimah, the first article of faith "there is no god; there is no one worthy of worship except ALLAH. This is the first of faith of Muslims, who express it in these words; "There is no god but Allah abd Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the Messenger if ALLAH." Islam attaches great importance to this pillar of faith - concerning the unity of ALLAH and the finallity of the Prophethood. THIS IS THE FOUNDATION AND THE BEDROCK OF ISLAM. The expression of beleif in this article distinguishes a believer from a non-believer. Belief in one supreme ALLAH is essential; knowledge of ALLAHand his attributes is necessary for one to fashion ones life in virtue in accordance with the Divine Will. There is no room for politheism (beleif in more than one god) or etheism (beleif in no god) in Islam.A true beleiver denounces or other kinds of dietes and lowers his head in obedience to ALLAH, the al-mighty. The beleiver accepts and folows ALLAH's command in word and deed. The declaration that there is no god but ALLAH attests not only to the oneness and uniqeness of ALLAH, but it also signifies the oneness of His lordship, the sovereignty and authority in this universe, this world and the world hereafter.As there is no other Creator and Sustainer of the universe, there acn likewise be no other Ruler, Lawgiver and Supreme Authority for mankind. ALLAH is the Lord of all creation; He creates what He pleases giving each of His creations a nature, role and function for which He desires and in this He is accountable to noone and all things are under His absolute controll.
