Any Movies That You Just Won't Watch?

I am what you would call a moderate movie watcher. I mean, it's not something I do every day. Sometimes I will go for a week or more without watching a movie. Some movies come out and I just know instinctively that I would not like the movie. Does this ever happen to you? Have you ever been surprised by a movie you thought you wouldn't like? I admit that I have.

I hardly watch TV at all to begin with..ever since I've been without cable TV isn't worth watching...and as far as movies, I usually will just put in one of my DVDs---I rarely go to movies either..real picky about that since going to movies is so expensive now--but one time, since I belong to the Columbia DVD club I hadn't done my "decline" the director's sent a copy of the 2003 version of Peter Pan..well, I was going to send it back..figured save myself the money--but then changed my mind...so decided to keep it and watched it....hehe...the little kid in me feel in LOVE with it--I love the music from it, and I walk around saying, "I do believe in fairies, I do, I do..." LOL--If the neighbors ever heard me they would think for sure.."Uh, huh, she's nuts"

I have quite a collection of DVDs from Columbia House myself, pyewacket. I also have a collection of VCR movies that I refuse to get rid of. Peter Pan has always been kind of magical-no matter how many times they remake it. I just restarted my membership in the DVD movie club because I like to watch movies at home. With the Surround Sound it's just like being in the theater.

I was the same way. I didn't want anything to do with Harry Potter movies, I had "heard" all the bad about them, etc. But recently while at my son's house, they played the 1st movie for me and I brought the others home with me, I was so into these movies that I even went to the theater to see the most recent one, and now I am hoping to see yet another one made. I plan to buy the entire set one day. I really enjoyed them.

During the summer time, I watch a lot of movies, and I will say right now, I am skeptical about some of the films that I watch. There are some films that are really not worth watching. Example: I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and I was extremely disappointed. I wish that I had not gone to see that film. It awful. One film that is coming out that I will not watch is "Hot Rod", films like that just do not interest me.

That's one reason why I usually wait until they come out on DVD after I've learned something about them. I don't just go by the reviews, but you can learn a lot just by watching the trailers and, of course, who's acting in it.

i am not an avid movie watcher (i find it hard to sit still for that long to be honest!) i do like watching historical movies though and have recently watched some 'feel good' movies such as akeelah and the bee with our daughters... the movies i cant stand are the goofy slap stick ones such as airplane and the like.

I feel the same way about some of those "comedy" movies, cher, they really are not funny at all. I will watch movies only when I'm in the mood. I really love action movies though.

=.= i LOVE comedy movies! but i dont like slap stick, they are so lame i also used to like Those talking dogs/animals movies. They were great the first time you've watched one but now they're so many and they all are bad. There are even tv shows about it.

Hello Worldwise1, My wife kept on telling me, I had to see "Dances with wolves", my reply was always, "I have no desire to watch it". This went on for about a year and one day I finally watched it, and it now happens to be one of my favorite movies. Now my family is trying to get me to watch all the "Harry Potter" movies and read the books. I do not have any desire to read or watch any of them, and I will stand firm on this. I don't like, nor will I ever like any of these books and movies. I feel there is just too much hype over the whole Harry Potter craze. I am native american and I don't know why I put up a stink over "Dances with wolves". I didn't know it was going to be as good as it was. Now when it comes to any movies about native americans and history, I will watch them. Oh, I am a computer addict first, then a book worm, and finally a movie person. Peace, Totty

You're a person after my own heart, totty. Dancing With Wolves is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all times. I can watch it over and over again. I always fall apart at the end when they are leaving and his friend is up in the mountains yelling down to him that he will always be his friend. I get misty just thinking about it. I also have some native american ancestry-Cherokee. I am also a bookworm, but I am in the learning process regarding computers.

well I was hoping this discussion would really be about a movie I just won't watch. If I don't think I'll like a movie, I usually won't. I'm not much interested in certain genre of movies but I love movies and I watch a movie at least once a day usually. Or at least every other day. There is one movie I unfortunately saw and think it's one of the most horrible movies in the world. KIDS. If you were asking a movie that I just wouldn't watch, ever again... it would be KIDS.

I hate slushy, mushy romantic films, or films about sport. I can't stand Michael Caine or Tom Hanks so I won't watch films with them in. I am quite fussy when it comes to films. Thankfully my friends all like the same things as me so we don't have arguments when we go to the cinema.

Wow, don't hold back, wolfie! No, seriously, I get where you're coming from. I like a mixed bag when it comes to movies. There are only a couple of actor's whose films I definitely would not see. They include Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, and a couple more I can't think of offhand.

There are many movies I would not watch nor have ever seen. Like the Harry Potter movies. I have not seen any of them. The surprises have been much more to the downside than anything that I was surprised about liking. One movie I thought I wouldn't like is Seabiscuit. It is now one of my favorite movies. But I have not seen many of the superhero movies over the last 2 or 3 years. They are all based on ideas from the 1930's-1950's and nothing is new under the sun. Where is the imagination? The Simpson movie? I have never ever watched a Simpson show. Thanks God for that..lol. If they ever start remaking more westerns, then I would be interested in those kind of movies.

I think the Harry Potter movies are great, sigma. I didn't think I would like them, and put off watching the first for a long time. I love westerns and think don't make nearly enough of them. I grew up watching the old tv westerns. They represent a fascinating era in our history. I watch the Simpsons on tv occasionally, but I don't think I woul like to sit through a whole movie.

Yeah, there are some movies I won't watch because I know my preferences and I don't want to watch them. Like the Harry Potter movies or Titanic. Yes, I have never seen Titanic, LOL. I don't think I've ever been pleasantly surprised by a movie. I've gone to several that I didn't want to see but my friend did. I was open to it, but I just didn't like them, for different reasons each time.

As my name implies, I watch a lot of movies. Much of that stems I guess from growing up just a hop, skip and jump away from Hollywood. Growing up movies were one of my familes primary entertainment options, and it was not uncommon to see 3 or more a week. I've watched and or will end up watching a good 95% or more of movies made, and I am surprised by how good and bad some of them are compared to what I am expecting. That being said, and I'm also a bit ashamed to admit this... I pretty much avoid watching anything in Black and White now. I have seen tons of black and white movies that were fantastic, but with technology what it is now, I don't often want to watch something that isn't in color. This is especially true of new movies shot in black and white, although that is some times forgiviable because they are often being shot that way for effect which can and does add to the movie. Sin City is a prime example.

Do books count i had to read the book 1984 for school and i thought it would suck and then when i read the book all the way through i realised it was one of the best books i've ever read. For a movie I really can't think of one ill edit this if i think of one though. but here is an example of a movie i will never watch: All the time... example 1; Bratz: The Movie o____o" i just hate those movies with bad graphics _ example 2, "Glitter" by Mariah Carey sometimes i enjoy little bit of horror films, but if too scary, i wont watch

I usually choose the movies I'll watch by their trailers. There have been some I thought I'd like that I haven't liked and there is one movie that I thought I'd hate and I was pleasantly surprised. My hubby rented it, I rolled my eyes when I saw the title, but I really liked it.

I agree, TawnyJo. You never know what you might end up liking. Someone left the movie Antwone Fisher starring Denzel Washington at my house few years ago. I was determined I wouldn't watch it because I thought it to be a military movie. Well, I didn't have anything else to watch one night so I popped it into the DVD player. I got a pleasant surprise. The story was touching and heartwarming and became a favorite.

I am a movie liker. I watch movies allot. But recently there haven't been a loot of good movies. i guess the movie industry changed. they do not put as much effort on the story as they used to. so i often have low expectations on new movies. but yes there are a few movies here and there that really surprise me. pride and prejudice was surely one of them. i was expecting that they will totally spoil it. but i really liked it.

I think that when it comes to movies, alnilam, you just have to find your niche. There are some actors whose movies I am always sure that I will like, such as Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Bruce Willis. I will buy their movies sight unseen. Others I have to at least see the previews.

I probably would not have rented the Sin Eater movie, just b/c I hadn't heard much good about it. My daughter had it at her house and this week I went to stay with her and we watched it, and it was a wonderful movie. But I will not watch horror movies. I just do not get any pleasure from horror, I like suspense, mystery, thrilling dramas, but not horror. A lot of others do like horror though, but for me, I'll pass on it.

Fear.com I can't stand that movie and whats worse I own it on DVD. I made the mistake of getting it before I watched it and have regretted it ever since. Usually I will rent a movie first to make sure I like it enough to buy it but I made an exception that time and now I know better. LIVE IN PEACE
