Does it bother you when you send private messages with questions that and the receiver never bothers to reply?
This bothers me a little because I asked a question! I asked the question because I really wanted the response. Sometimes feedback can really make things we do worthwhile and without feedback we never really know if our efforts did any good.
Guess it just makes me feel like the things I try to do for others is not appreciated.

Yes,sometimes it feels bad when my PM is not replied to. I send one reminder to the user, even then the response does not come, I keep quite. But, I must say 9 out of 10 cases, I receive the desired reply and I convey my thanks to the user also.
You would agree that all cannot be alike.

You are right. Some of us can be inconsiderate of others. You keep quiet?
Hope you understand the situation. They asked for help fixing a problem they are having.
I send them a tool and at the same time asking them to let me know if this tool helps them fix their problem. A couple of weeks goes by... I send them a message "Did that tool help you with your problem?" Another couple of weeks goes by... You have to wonder if they are even getting the messages. After some more messing around you do confirm that they are in fact getting the messages, they just don't find it important to acknowledge you.
"Thanks for ignoring me... you are welcome anyway."
Seriously! Do you not find this behavior rude?

I don't send a lot of private messages. I do not respond to the ones I get that are just spam trying to promote their money earning links. I respond to everyone else. I have only sent one private message (that wasn't to myLot) that didn't get answered. I was disappointed because the member replied to a discussion about postcard exchanging and wanted to do it, but when I emailed them with my info and requesting theirs, they never replied. That doesn't make any sense to me.

This is fairly similar to what prompted me to start this discussion.
I found someone asking for help which I tried to provide. Then I sent them a message asking if what I did helped... that was days ago. They have logged on several times but never bothered to respond to my query.
I went out of my way to try and assist but basically got no acknowledgment. This makes me ask myself... why do I bother?

It bothers me too. I feel if you are going to sign up to a website that is for discussions that you should be open to answering questions to someone who is asking.
You are appreciated so don't worry.
