Since I have, and have had so many cats in my life, I am starting to run low on new names, and I don't like to recycle very well, so: I saved 3 more strays and they are 2 girls and 1 boy. The one girl is a long haired, grey stripe and white, the other girl is mostly white, but she's a calico, and the boy is a cream colored with a little white. I was kinda thinking of Jasmine, as one name. Any ideas?

I think you can imagine since you know my story a bit, that I had to get pretty inventive with names...for awhile there I had simple names like Tommy, Mickey, Friskey..Biddy...Snoopy..I went through cycles it seemed...a Japanese cycle where I had Sachiko, Koniko, and Keiko...then an Indian phase..then I had Cheyenne, Lakota, and Dakota, also, Geronimo, Tootosis, Winema, AhShemah, Tecumseh...ah, you get the idea..LOL--for black cats...Smudge, Shadow, and my current...Pyewacket--also had Bibbity Bobbity Boo...shall I go on??? LOL

Ok, now I've got to admit, that as many cats as I've had in my lifetime,(at least a couple of hundred) I have only used a couple of the names you've mentioned. Some of them are downright cool, but I ahve a granddaughter, Cheyenne, so that probably wouldn't go over well, and some are long, so since I spend alot of time calling kittys, that could tire me out. lol Have any shorter ones?

Oh, I like Kissy. I already have a Missy, and I had a Chip(my freaking motherinlaw ran him over, last summer. And I had a Dale. Well, if you don't mind, I may put Kissy at the top of my faves list. If you find your list, let me know. I do think I'll probably name the grey one, Jasmine, unless something better comes along.

Cally/Kally/Callie/Kallie for the calico? Spitfire for any of them if you have a wild one in the bunch that's got more energy than it can burn. Ummmm....Kal, Creamery..maybe name them for their personality..Can't believe I'm at loss for unusual names for animals.

I agree about running out of names. That's why I started doing "themes." Since we named one cat Rygel, and yes, I know the star is spelled Rigel, we named his siblings after stars.
When we got "The Wonder Twins" they had a Siamese sister, so I named her after a Chinese co-worker & named the boys "Ping" and "Pong" after the game that opened up Red China.
So, if you choose a name like Jasmine, then find some other flowers to name the rest. I know, a flower isn't the best for a guy, so find one that sounds masculane, like a tree.

Awww - Jasmine is such a pretty name. With my cats, I always find I need to get to know them a bit first, and then I fit their name to their personality, - so it's hard to think up names for kittens I have never met. But here are a few that either myself or my friends have used for cats over the past few years........... Bluebell, Snowflake, Cleo, Thomas, Henry, Mia, Cookie, Pumpkin, Bailey, Tansy, Clover, Daisy, George, Bouncer, Whisper, and Max. Hope some of these might be of help. Cheers.

Yes, there's some good ones in there. I have a dog named Cookie, though, and I had a cat named Daisy, but that was years ago. They were sisters, Daisy, Rosey, and Lily. They were beautiful long haired cats, all yellow.

I had a college instructor whose nickname was cali (k-al-lee) for Mrs. Callahan. But cali could be short for calico.
I like the name Jasmine. One of my favorite scented oils.
I observe animals and give them names. Like one didn't want to leave the house, so I called him, "Homer." When I volunteered one day at an animal shelter, this cat was zipping all over the place, so I called him, "Zoom Zoom!"
The best names, to me, are the ones that go with their personality. Every cat is different and that is one way you can keep from running out of names.
Do let us know what five names you decide on.

I agree, the best names are the ones that fit their personality. That's how I've named several of mine. I already have a Cali(she's 10 years old), so I can't use that one. Homer is a nsme that I've never used, so that's a possibility. Thanks for your reply.

My favorite method is to just watch the cats and see what they do that makes them so unique, how they eat, how they play, and how they like to be loved. Cats love routine, like when I get home our routine to open a can of food she eats, gives me time to get comfortable then it's her lovin time and first thing in the morning she is so ready to go outside and be gone. I named mine MSPrissy because she is so finicky and likes things a certain way.
